Seems like they would not need to make so many assumptions if they just did a survey of say, odometer readings of used EVs. Also 2014-2017 is ancient history in EV terms. The annual miles driven data is nearly meaningless as an indicator of current driving behavior.

A district could phase them in as life cycle replacements. If you only purchase a few electric busses each year, and install infrastructure as needed the up front costs would be much easier to handle. At a certain point the effort to maintain two fleets will outweigh the cost of switching over, however by that time

I’ve had two Leafs (Leaves?) now and they are great commuter cars. They are awesome in traffic; nimble, torquey and so, so quiet. I was sold by the test drive.

Laurie Anderson did a live version of “O Superman” in 2001 that can bring me to tears.

If you take 10-12 hr road trips with only 5-8 minute stops, an electric car is not for you. No should have to tell you that. I regularly need to transport multiple sheets of plywood, but I don’t complain about how a Honda Civic would not meet my legitimate hauling concerns.

Outstanding David. Some of the best political writing to come out of this three year waking nightmare is on this site. Just beautiful, acid prose.

Play Harmony Hall from their new album followed immediately by Touch of Grey by the Grateful Dead. You cannot unhear it.

I would 100% watch that True Detective.

Burial at sea for veterans is free and remarkably easy, especially if you are cremated. It’s what my Navy vet dad wanted when he passed a couple years ago. Fill out an online form, enclose with a death certificate, certificate of cremation, and a copy of the DD214 and you are good to go. Priority mail the ashes in a

Seconded. W was somewhat active, chopping wood on the ranch etc.

It only takes one time having to call in sick because you forgot to charge the car. You plug it in as soon as you get home, like you lock the doors.

We have always been at war with Tables.

The one-pedal feature works especially well with adaptive cruise control. My Leaf can go for miles in slow traffic without me having to touch any pedals.

“honeybaked swell” Thank you for that.

The context was Schnatter claiming Colonel Sanders used to call people N——r all the time, and protesting that he is being held to a higher standard. This was in response to a hypothetical question from a role player.

No, it’s fine. I spent a month there last year (mostly doing army stuff) but we did get to spend a week doing tours, going to town etc. Very pretty country, especially in the mountains. Food and lodging was very inexpensive. Awesome food if you like heavy meat dishes. The Romanians we met were very friendly and liked

And for as much of a problem some “Christians” have with them I don’t recall Jesus saying anything about the gays. Odd that...

The charge door in my 2014 Leaf is opened by an electronic button.

I love stuff like this. A co-worker of mine appears to be about the most typical south Georgia good ‘ol boy, and so he is, except for the part where he grew up the son of missionaries in South America. He speaks fluent Spanish and two Indian dialects understood by only a few thousand people in the entire world.
