Yup. My mom is my grandma's sole caretaker, and it's basically a full-time job, since my grandma refuses to cook or clean anymore. My uncle lives across the country and sends my grandma money and visits a few times a year, but otherwise doesn't help out. If my grandparents had stopped at one kid and not had my mom,…
Agreed! I moved from a large, two story apartment (which I shared with a roommate) to a one-bedroom (about 450 square feet) and I absolutely love it. It takes me less than 10 minutes to vacuum the whole place, and the lack of space made me get rid of all the crap that I don't actually need/use.
Is there an app that allows you to see what percentage of your disposable income a product costs? I.e, you'd enter your income, the cost of your rent/utilities/other monthly expenses and the amount that is left over is used to help you determine what to buy. That would be much more helpful, IMHO.
One of my most distinct memories from my childhood is from when I was about five and had a tantrum over something and told my mom I hated her. My mom looked at me, crouched down so we were the same height, and told me very kindly that I had really hurt her with those words. She went on to explain to me what hate…
You know, I love my cat even more because he's sometimes a bit of an asshole. You can't expect someone, even an animal, to always be in a good mood.
I need a time machine STAT in order to wipe the last sentence of this comment from my mind.
Your cat hasn't taken a life insurance policy out in your name recently, has it?
I do the same, but I use my library's "lists" feature on their online catalog. Just as easy, I save money, and when I do decide to order one, it comes in just about as fast (usually 3-5 days).
You simply need to prioritize it above other activities.
Can you link me to the story? I always donate the dollar (after hearing that it's going to an org I would support, of course), so I'm curious about this.
YES THIS. We took home ec in middle school, but it was mostly learning to sew and cook.
That is horrifying.
Wait, is that blood on his face? Did the bird break his nose? Or did Fabio's face break the bird??
Ugh, this makes me so sad, because I loved his books. :(
I recently joined OkCupid and was told by several female friends who also use the site that (in their experience) men do not seem to want women to make the first move. If you message them first, chances are they will write back about 50% of the time, but their message is about 90% likely to not be one you can easily…
I believe Mitt is an asshole just as much as the next person, but this is clearly a shitty, shitty fake yearbook page. No one is that specific in their yearbook notes. If it said something like, "Hey man, thanks for being so cool about those times we pranked you — hope there's no hard feelings! Have a kick-ass…
Yeah, I find it hard to understand how something that can eliminate all aquatic life can be beneficial for any other species, including cows.
Yup, I'm going to bring this up the next time my mom tries to force-feed me her beloved Greek yogurt. I'm all set with my non-acid-whey-producing, cheaper yogurt, thanks.
