I am in a very similar situation. One year old and four year old, husband and I both working at home. We could survive on his salary but not on mine. We made the decision early on that if one of us has to let their job responsibilities slide, it’s me. I try to work as much as I can during the day, but I have to take a…
Again, people don’t quit jobs — they quit bosses. And we’re rapidly determining which companies are trying to do the right thing, and which are just... fucking terrible.
I like Modcloth because they have sizes exactly like you stated (my size too). I haven’t heard anything bad about them yet, but has anyone else? I hope not. Otherwise I buy a ton of cute dresses off Amazon since I’m really poor right now and I can’t afford much else, as much as I hate Amazon. I’ve bought four $20…
& Other Stories, might hook you up. Ruelala and Hautelook (both on line) have great flash sales.
And “fuck you fashion industry”, in general, for not catering to all sizes fairly. 😡
wow you described our size so perfectly (and my feelings re: anthro right now) twinsies...
Couple good shops here https://donegood.co/blogs/news/5-ethical-and-eco-friendly-alternatives-to-anthropologie
Boden USA has become my Anthro since I became an adult (ie: children ruined my waist). Their dresses are not cheap, but neither is Anthro. Boden dresses are hardy (I never dry clean, they survive the washer just fine) and the cut of their dresses is usually flattering.
I like American Eagle and Cotton On
Anything under that store group/umbrella you should avoid like the plague.
I’m sure these unofficial policies were completely unrelated and put in place by individual “bad-apple” assistant managers throughout the country and don’t reflect the broader culture of acceptance and diversity that has always been at the heart of Anthropologie.
I’ll let Chris Rock respond:
Pompeo is married to Chris Ivery and has spoken out on racial issues many many times in the past, so it’s definitely fair to conclude that she is indeed being incredibly rhetorical and sarcastic.
It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain and even a tiny bit of good faith.
I also feel like Ellen knows her audience (white women) and knows they’re a delicate bunch who need to be given a trail of bread crumbs in order to come around to the right side of history. Being too direct might startle them off.
I am really struggling with what is going on with these Jezebel writers lately. They are just shitting on people for ridiculous reasons, blatantly missing the point, and from the comments it’s more than obvious that they are entirely out of touch with their audience. The fact that they’ve *more than once* mocked…
Yeah. Wtf? I know Ellen Pompeo has done some awkward things related to race (like using the black emoji hands when she's white), but her meaning was clear. She was being sarcastic. She doesn’t literally not know why.
Me, reading Jezebel’s latest hot take:
“You tell me” is pretty much the closest thing to /s in the spoken word.
