The Doors are of those bands where their hit singles have been flogged to death on classic rock radio that people don't bother looking beyond their 'best of' collections. The title track off The Soft Parade slays me every time.

This is just a brilliant album. The only thing 'wrong' with it is that the alternate version of 'You Set The Scene', with the multitrack vocalizations on the fade, is superior.
I was reading an article about Skip Spence and listening to Oar just this morning.
Well, they're supposed to give awards for an artist's music, not their attitude. (Kanye should remember that). I'd say Bonamassa has earned the right to be a little snippy.
I'm happy about Pharrell, Jack White and St Vincent winning their respective categories. I wish Brandy Clark had won best new artist. And Joe Bonamassa should've won best blues recording.
Other than that this was a complete non-event.
Just the opposite; I'd argue it's evidence that most people aren't particularly perturbed by comics' silliness.
Why do articles about comic movies continually fall back on jokes about how comics are weird? I mean, you basically explained the premise of the Inhumans right there in one sentence, and if an 'average' AV Club passing reader was confused by that, then they'd have to be pretty flummoxed by any movie not set in their…
Jesus H Christ. I clicked on that link you bastard. Never again.
And some of them thought AVC was a parody site!
What's with these fake Breitbart headlines from the AVC commentariat lately? Did that site attack the AVC or somehting? I've never visited there, so I don't know what they're about.
Ottawa Blues Fest. Brilliant
Yeah, because the establishment's reaction to Elvis was "Ah yes, this is nice and safe…"
I agree with the sentiment, but the title is plain wrong. Back in Memphis and Elvis Country are also essential Elvis long-players. The latter is probably Elvis' most fully-realized 'concept' album. His version of 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On' is near definitive.
'Sounds like'? You mean it wasn't?
Yeah, but like 'Sympathy For The Devil' or 'Another Brink In The Wall Part 2', it's not very indicative of their general sound.
I don't want to sound like a parody of an SJW, but… This is a pretty clear-cut case of cultural appropriation, right?
How can 'How Soon Is Now?' Be the Smiths-iest of Smiths single when it doesn't feature either a jangling guitar or overly verbose lyrics? You're think of 'This Charming Man' or 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now'.
The book was almost completely free of dialogue cliches and 'chosen one' tropes, which the film added in. My whole family laughed when Sam Elliot literally said of the polar bears "They don't take kindly to strangers".
And the ending wasn't so much a 'twist' as a downbeat note that made you the reader reconsider the…
Cool! Thanks.
So if someone wanted to start reading these Valiant superhero books, where would one start? It's been going for a few years now right? Is there one essential book, or an omnibus collection?
Is this the same Chris Weitz who fatally and infuriatingly screwed up the Golden Compass adaptation? Because if so, yikes.
