Props for The Congress reference

But more likely to attract casual viewers.

Ritter can pull that off no worries. You must have only seen her in fluff. She played a heroin addict, fer criss sake.

Against Me isn't even in the shortlist for albums? WTF?

The Alias comic had a definite indie look it it.
And Ritter can dress down for the part, like she did in Breaking Bad

And water is wet.

Well I got no jokes to make. This is not only perfect casting, it also means more Kristen Ritter on my screen.

'Defenders' sounds more like 'Avengers'

Thanks for reminding me that show once existed and now it's gone, asshole.

Well, try listening to the Faces tracks with Ronnie Lane on vocals, like 'Debris'. Or Ron Wood with 'Ooh La la'.

Well, they got Mick Hucknall to fill in, so … I got nuthin'

One of the most underrated rock musicians ever. In two of the most underrated bands ever: Small Faces and Faces. I only got right into the Faces this year, after buying that new 2-disc anthology that includes almost all their albums. Many hidden gems there.

In Through The Out Door was a Zep album with John Paul Jones in charge. The question is, if Bonham had lived, would Jones have continued to exercise power on the next albums, or would Page & Plant have seized the reins back.

Against Me! is my #1 or 2 pick. The best argument for the continued existence of classic rock n roll virtues.

That's the attitude!

If you like your metal 'classic' - i.e. early 80s stadium-wise production, power chords, scrotum-strangled singers and mild satanic imagery, then try Ghost (aka Ghost B.C.). They look like they should be all cookie monster vocals and palm muted chords, but they're a decent throwback band who are pretty committed to

Serious answer: Run The Jewels 2
There were plenty of rock releases I loved this year, but that is the first hip-hop album I've felt as strongly about.

It was my birthday on Sunday, so I treated myself to the vinyl edition. It's not value for money, but hearing the album as four 12 minute songs is definitely the preferred option: the little details don't get lost in the beatific haze.

Since I'm really enjoying AOS, I'd be fine with that.

I'm watching it tomorrow (when its due back at the DVD store). If it's half as good as the other movies Johansson did this year, it should be a treat.
