(I know you didn't ask me but I felt like chiming in)

I’ve got a 23-year-old friend who is convinced that cocaine is responsible for the sound of 80’s music. He says that coke wipes out certain audible ranges in your hearing, so all the 80’s hits have an identifiable audio signature.

what does it take for an episode to get a goddamned A here

I picked up “derp” some time ago… likely from a meme, but I also saw the Parker & Stone movies like BASEketball from which it likely originated.

I just don’t get it. They take books that are clearly better-suited for cable series like Dark Tower and make movies, and they take books that are better-suited to two hour, intensely psychological movies like Gateway and makes series. Makes no sense at all.

Are these seasons so short because Roilard & Co. are resource-constrained? (same question for Broad City)

“Now be like grandpa.” “You mean drunk?” HOLY DAMN MORTY ZINGER BOOM

upon a year of reflection, I’m gonna bump Rick Potion to a close #3

I’m gonna lose some feminist credibility by admitting this, but my first impression of her when watching Firefly was “holy whoa is that rack for real”

I finally recognized Newsradio as an all-time great during a throwaway line… the office furniture was getting sold due to budget cuts, Jimmy James and Phil was past each other through David’s (now de-glassed) window.

I know I wasn’t supposed to like this episode, but even before the speakeasy I was grinning from ear to ear. Love, love, love

Princess Bride, perfect example, an entire movie about how 10-year-old boys are susceptible to romance.

If the producers are avoiding this “to not alienate its young boy demographic”, they’re blowing it. The “someone who loves you” reveal was one of the scenes that made me (as a ten year old) sit up and CARE in Jedi.

oh damn, Ghostbusters, the scene where Sigourney Weaver is levitating. That was hot.

Dan Harmon made the same observation about Slave in his podcast exactly a year ago.

Nope. I guess that answers both of our questions!

agree w/r/t Bevers. I can’t stand him, and he was so functional in that regard

last night I was trying to explain why I could never live with a roommate ever again and I wish I could have just played that scene

is there a version where the song is funny

Whenever a new Sleater-Kinney album comes out, I spend the first dozen plays thinking “I just can’t get into this one”; then one song clicks, then another, and by the twentieth listen it’s my new all-time favorite SK album.
