Buildings south of Kansas City/StL rarely have full basements because the frost depth doesn’t necessitate it. Most buildings are slab-on-grade.

It sorta starts with buying a used lexus because you “need to be able to get around”. There are many options for more reliable vehicles which are cheaper than an old Lexus.
There are three subsets of Jeep owners.
No kidding. There are F-16s here and they’re hoping to change over to F-35s. I love watching the F-16s. In fact, this weekend I took my two sons to the local Air and Space Museum which is at the airport (big surprise) and we happened to get there right as a flight of two were taking off. The first did a steep climb…
Dude, elsewhere in the business world competitive bids are sent, deals are negotiated, and contracts are signed for many many millions of dollars all via email. Why should buying a car be any different.
What do you mean? Obviously it does, as that stick seems to have served the purpose perfectly well.
Too bad those vehicles do not meet any US emissions or safety regulations.
Surprised he didn’t want reimbursed for removing the cylinder head to remove the broken pieces of insulator and potentially rebuild the whole thing due to damaged pistons.
I have a 1995 Chevy 1 1/4 ton bucket truck with the 454. Even with that meager power I’m surprised how well it’s able to get out of its own way (weigh ha ha). It weighs 14,000 lbs. I doubt that little S2000 engine would be able to get that truck to crawl up a hill too well or push it down the turnpike at 75mph.
Here’s a question: What do you do when someone sends you money via paypal because they get the email address wrong?
I have this same issue as well. I’ve gotten emails intended for an elderly lady in Minnesota for years and I know she knows she’s using the wrong email because she actually sent me a facebook friend request (which I ignored). My last name is pretty common so I get lots from other people too.
Today I Learned: Rural Oregon has a massive problem with transient muggers.
There are a lot of reasons why parking garages are very rarely sprinkled.
A whole thread of arguing back and forth about building design and construction and barely a mention of expense.
Most forms such as advance directives and living wills, etc, have specific sections for making this distinction. Mine specifically states that if I have any sort of expectation of recovery (EG my heart stopped because I electrocuted myself/car wreck/fell off a ladder/whatever but I’m otherwise healthy) I am to be…
Having lived my life in a rural area not unlike where that happened, the chances of encountering a pedestrian are extremely slim. Deer strikes are exponentially more likely. And I’d imagine he was more than able to see lights of vehicles ahead.
Yeah, I pretty much am.
These highlight all my frustrations with people these days and GPS. Almost all these issues would’ve been solved if people looked at the dang map view and applied some common sense rather than just using the turn-by-turn directions. If you choose to willfully be geographically ignorant you fully deserve to be…
Moreover, you can see that exact plane at the Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center.
If you’re worried about another crash you should be able to just chose to keep your money in less risky investments. Either way, it’s your money that you should have control over. The government shouldn’t punish everyone just to save dumb people from their own poor choices.
