Seems like there are some obvious flaws in this study and its conclusions. For one thing, the measurement of ill health that they use is higher rates of cancer and more trips to the doctor. But vegetarians tend to be of higher socio-economic status, meaning they can afford to go to the doctor/psychologist when they

Also an atheist, so maybe our opinions aren't the most normative, but I kind of wouldn't want to be in the human heaven even if I thought there was one. I mean...I miss my family members that are dead, so that would be cool...but if there are no dogs or cats or horses or bunnies, I'm out. You'll find me in the (much

Fair point, although now that I'm in my 30s, I have a lot more reasons not to be in organized religion. Being an atheist, for example.

I remember someone explaining to me when I was quite young that dogs and cats don't go to heaven; it's only for people. That was the exact moment when I decided organized religion is not for me. Anyone with any brains can see that dogs are better people than people will ever be.

I clicked on this link, wondering why in the hell Mitch McConnell was releasing an ad in the United Kingdom.... *sigh*

Can someone explain to me why girls wear those Terry Richardson glasses? I am old and they remind me of my dad, who had the same pair in the '80s. When I see a 17 year old girl in them I am confused and repulsed.

If they retain their sanity, they must experience some shame/embarrassment Re: Benedict Cumberbatch and his thoughts on his 'Cumberbitches'.

I was once in a car with 3 friends and, for whatever reason, molestation came up. I was the ONLY one in the car who had not been molested or sexually assaulted. We were all 18 at the time. So...the 1 in 3 is probably a light estimation, if I had to guess.

finally, a reason I can comprehend!

I don't think I do lack reading comprehension. I just disagree with you, which is apparently a very hard thing for you to deal with (which explains why you resort to insults in every comment).

Your argument is that marriage has no connection to religion? Because I think it pretty inherently does have a religious connection to most religious people. Nor do I think what marriage meant in the Roman Empire is particularly relevant to what it has meant in the last few hundred years of Western society.

Ok, my apologies. There were just a couple of people that referenced same sex marriages in response to my comment and I am mortified by the idea that anyone could even confuse me for being anti-equality. Your comment was just the latest, so I responded to it with my hackles a bit raised.

I'm trying to learn more about fellow human beings. I like to comprehend how other people think, especially when they think differently to me. Is that okay with you?

Yeah, I call bullshit on that. Nothing I said had anything to do with marriage equality, nor did I say anything about Christianity. For all the commenters know, I am an atheist born to Muslim parents. I get that the article is specifically about Christianity, but my comment was not. Furthermore, saying 'i don't get

Ignoring the snark, I guess I don't think that's necessarily true. Before Christianity, sure, but before all religion? Depends on your definition of religion; particularly where cultural tradition ends and religion begins. Also depends on whether you consider strategic alliances for greater power/property/livestock

One of my facebook friends posted a long heartfelt post about how she'd been having a tough time lately. She asked god for help. The next day her co-worker brought in donuts, which brightened her mood. And her professor let her use his laptop when hers crashed during class. She thanked god for taking care of her.

I sort of wonder why atheists feel the need to get married. If you remove the religious rules surrounding fornication, etc., you can be together without any feelings of guilt or immorality, for whatever length of time you choose. So why get married?

I went through a long period of wearing 3 of those shitty sports bras they sell at target before I realized that it was moronic to do so. My nipples would chafe like crazy when I went for a run, because of all the layers, inadequate support, etc.

This might be a stupid question, but do they weigh less when they're fake? Is saline less dense than fat?

5'6"...why?
