“Some critics contend that such “non-elective” surgeries are wasteful and dangerous.”

Schroedinger’s Egg!

the egg’s shell is rigid but fragile, the spray-on bedliner is strong but flexible. the bedliner would not protect the egg.

After derby I would always do a hot shower and a cold beer.

Well you have to remember the road is downhill. So you have no idea what angle that runaway is at.

or maybe the safety ramp is... level!

But what would it look like if it were cut open afterward with an industrial saw? I guess we’ll never know....

You could maybe just watch the video for that.

For short distance, the energy gels do not help. Once you get over 2hours running...you have to replace some of your glycogen stores or you’ll bonk hard. Those gels are high concentrated sugars, so for that purpose they do work. Not a sham, just maybe overused by some people. You could also eat a banana or something,

Looks like a drunk Stay Puft Marshmallow Man wearing a Heisenberg hat. Can’t unsee.

Everyone should have a kitchen fire extinguisher in their car/truck box....

Yeah, this video makes me want to get an extinguisher for my cars, if anything.

No one has pointed out the two major opposite facts in this story?

You can see this guy earlier in the video (yellow shirt man #1) as he runs up and basically just points at the car before running off. At first I was like “what a f’n coward... runs up, sees lady trapped in burning car, and runs the other way.” Moments later, though, when he appears again in frame to ostensibly help

Now if the car wasn’t on fire I’d agree. But...the car was on fire.

And being burned to a crisp isn’t permanent harm? The fact that this type of comment is made makes me weep for the future. Life is risky and no amount of laws and lawsuits will change that. In times of need and and all help should be welcome.

When a life is threatened by immediate danger, such as a fire, you have to ignore the danger of causing further injury by moving the victim.

The one who saved her was the one who showed up with a fire extinguisher. Everybody just backed off as he arrived, then they could get back in there. $20 well spent there.

These bystanders weren’t so heroic.

Sometimes life puts a speed bump in your path. Occasionally, hitting that speed bump causes your airbag to deploy, sending metal shrapnel into your face and neck, resulting in your slow and painful death via exanguination and asphyxiation on your own blood. What are you gonna do?
