My high school had a pretty high east Asian population, and I don’t think there was a single kid who wasn’t either born overseas or the child of immigrants.

The kanji actually is one of the easier parts of learning Japanese, in my opinion. The grammar and the endless stream of homophones is definitely the hard part. Learning kanji is just pattern memorization.

Got direct flights to Houston, New York, Denver, Toronto, and Boston as well, none of whom are on his list.

Not only that, she looks older than 23, too.

These are quite rare things in Japan, though. I’d say way less common than in the US.

Not that many. Tons of tourists of all shapes and sizes these days.

Funny, I’m basically the opposite. Love the book, but the movie.... Well, it’s OK I guess. Unmemorable and no match for the book to me.

They’ve been good for a few years now.

Man, that site is terrible. Illuminati mind control, Satanic rituals. Weird lack of focus on reality.

There’s not really anything thrifty about Mandarake - they deal exclusively in stuff for the collector’s market. A thrift store has all sorts of general merchandise, perhaps some collectibles but typically just used items.

I usually see AES consoles for a lot less than $190 here. Usually 15,000 yen is about normal.

You could ask the same thing about most any AES game. All of them are much more than the MVS version.

They’re not really like thrift shops at all - they don’t buy/sell cheaper stuff or junk stuff at all. They’re a resale shop for collectors.

You can view a lot of game online with Pacific League TV service.

People in Japan dress just as shittily as the average American once you get out of the big cities. Sweatpants and crocs are the uniform of the young woman going to the supermarket in the countryside.

I walked away from watching all football 3-4 years ago and don’t miss a thing. I really loved it when I was younger, too.
