I was much like you - did my best work in grad school (basically perfect marks), in contrast to me just sorta schlumping through and barely graduating high school.

I was a goddamn wreck watching that in the theater.

Yeah, happened to my dad when he was near the end. Put him in a private room when he was slightly better, he started hallucinating badly and couldn’t sleep as a result, had to move him back into a more public space.

Kristin, public drinking in Japan is rarely frowned upon, regardless of what that Reddit post says. I mean, partying loudly on the train is, blocking a business is, being a nuisance in general is, but nobody cares if you sit outside and have a beer or 5. This is for both Japanese and foreigners alike - it’s super

You don’t always need Japanese ID for beer vending machines in Japan. The ones by me use facial recognition to check if you “look old enough” - not sure how that works. Cigarettes you do, yes.

I got ungreyed in a lot of places then, but I actually got put BACK into the greys here.

That’s fan art, at least.

I went to grad school there when I had better offers. I have no idea what I was thinking, but grad school was easy at least.

I still have my HP28S, bought off a friend my first year in college.

Canada could not be easier to travel to.

Nah, you can go to any of the university areas and find a bunch of 1st-2nd year students getting smashed at cheap izakayas. Or drinking in the park, at the beach, etc. Binge drinking is just as prevalent if not more so I think.

We got screwed this year with Showa Day on the 29th. Saturday holidays stay on Saturday (ie helps none of us salarymen) while Sunday holidays move to Monday.

Less underage drinking? Probably more given the ease of getting alcohol.

That’s why the good lord made Eki Net.

In my experience few countries require that you actually have this permit, but there are some that do. I had to pay a large fine in Brazil several years back as their special international permit was absolutely required, and they had checkpoints on national highways to verify documentation.

It’s easy - just remember the driver side of the car should be in the middle of the road, not nearest the shoulder. I’ve spent half my driving life on one side of the road and the rest on the other, switching back and forth gets to become second nature.

I’m sure you’re not, but I’m also pretty sure it’s a minority opinion. It’s a very popular franchise, and I don’t think the lack of streaming is going to hurt that at all.

You are forgetting the step where the streamer would need to license the content to be streamed. Audible, etc are not creating audio books without licensing the right to do so from the original books’ publishers.

How about just respecting the wishes of the people who produce the content in the first place?

I would imagine it’s simply much easier to fix a low profile match with a terrible side than it is anything competitive, higher profile.
