“If it’s not going to be any better, then why are we bothering with this shit in the first place.”
“If it’s not going to be any better, then why are we bothering with this shit in the first place.”
Agreed. Most pieces are intuitive to the point you don’t need instructions. Other offer step by step instructions with pictures. There isn’t even jargon to learn. Just clearly labelled pictures.
The quality comes from the accuracy and usefulness of the information provided, as opposed the prose, narrative, or writer’s style (imho). The more interesting the information, the generally less useful it is going to be.
“Cambridge Analytica used the data of over 50 million Facebook users to exploit their fears and launch a sophisticated propaganda campaign on behalf of Donald Trump’s team.”

When you are planning to murder people, it isn’t smart to broadcast it via instagram. I’m not a criminal mastermind, but I am fairly certain this isn’t the best way to go about it.
Who is you? And why would Facebook get rid of it’s only method of monetizing Facebook?
Oh, so you are a crazy person. That clears this up.
Sure, but then we will need to have a discussion of what type of education provides value and reduces human suffering, but I don’t have enough time to dig through that completely.
Nope. There is nothing subjective about “value to society.” You can quantify it objectively in a myriad of ways.
“See, I think the purpose of funding public schools is the same purpose as the funding of healthcare. It’s just the right thing to do.”
Well, the purpose of funding public schools is so kids can become functional citizens. If they want to follow their hearts and learn something that doesn’t provide any value back for the public’s investment in them, then they shouldn’t be going to public schools. The value of public education isn’t so people can…
That is demonstrably untrue, to the point that college degrees have become the new high school diploma for jobs that realistically require neither.
“it’s to listen to them, to watch them, to trust them”
The “pushups” in this scenario are reading comprehension and math. How is the ability to do math and being functionally literate have zero evidence of being useful?
They just kick them out of the SEALs, which would work well for the students who have no interest in learning.
That’s an easy fix. Get rid of truancy laws. People who don’t give a shit about school will not have to attend. Given that a high school degree is functionally useless at this point, it will give the kids who care a huge leg up to not have to deal with people who believe school is prison and want to be free
When Europe gets enough natural gas or alternative energy source to do so. Until then, they bluster and keep buying the resource they need.
Not filming strangers via a sushi conveyor just seems like a normal convention.
