When Kahn wrote above that we will need a “World War II-style [italics mine] (or whatever historical analog you prefer) mobilization of technology, research, and human capital to avert catastrophic climate change,” maybe he was being literal.

They might laugh, but they’ll also be choking at the same time. What nobody’s really saying here is that the planet cannot handle both India and China developing a middle class in the same wasteful ways that the US did it.
I guess it depends if you’re a glass-half-full, glass-half-empty, or glass-is-broken-and-will-cut-your-face sort of person. Personally, I find Yang’s perspective on this issue refreshing. If politicians keep saying we can do something to avert disaster, then a large chunk of people will continue to think that this is…
Wow, this is quite a hit job. You are misrepresenting his views about as much as possible (and you backpedal and use weak language throughout because you know it). Being honest about what is going to happen is not dangerous. Carbon Capture combined with lower emissions is 100% the correct solution, and investigating…
You can’t really unionize this type of job. It’s unskilled labor. They are QA Tester, no programing or education required. Training is minimal, replacements are easy.
I can’t read the first link because it has a paywall.
We’ll need to weed out facts and speculation then...
The EAGLE doesn’t concern itself with the criticisms of MICE
It wasn’t the dunking, it was the celebrating later goals like they were major goals.
BINGO. Thailand’s going to get blown out by everyone in the group, so getting 13 on them is tactically advantageous.
I think they were taking issue with the celebrations of the goals rather than the goals themselves-- just my reading of it. But you’re right, if you include goal differential as part of the determination as to who moves forward, score as many as you possibly can.
I don’t know that I’d go so far but I definitely don’t think that Media Matters employees/alums should get to dictate what speech is beyond the pale.
I have no dog in that fight.
You sir, are correct. By pointing out that Maza is gay and happens to be Mexican or Hispanic, isn’t harassment. Just like Maza, would call someone a straight white male. Crowder didn’t incite any sort of hazing or violence against Maza, and Maza, unable to engage in any sort of meaningful dialog or rebuttal, has…
Don’t you just love when people who never even so much as took an undergrad legal studies class try to pretend like they know all the applicable statutes and precedents by heart?
What if someone is on an NBC funded youtube channel and they actively promote assault on people who have a different viewpoint?
why do I ask? Because Maza tweeted “milkshake them all Humiliate them at every turn...” you can’t call for assault (however low-level it may be), and then complain about being humiliated.
Maza is just publicly bitching instead of actually bringing forth a lawsuit. He knows he can’t sue them for this.
Newsflash: There are ZERO cab companies that “hire drivers”. You don’t “work” for a cab company, you RENT from a cab company.
That’s right, NYC uses the medallion system. I was thinking in terms of a taxi/transportation company that hires drivers outright. Thanks for catching that.
Well yes, that’s how all apologies that don’t involve time travel work.
