Haven't seen the episode yet as I'm not caught up, but Linas Phillips does stand-up as Shawnsee (Shawnsey) in Seattle!  He's put some on vimeo!

Or!  As the show elided Nancy's three years in prison, maybe Weeds exists in the soon-to-be-weed-legal future??!?

Reading comments like this really make me wish I hadn't watched the "next week on…" for this episode, because I didn't get any of the residual goodwill from the guest characters showing up, as I already knew they'd be there.  Goddamn my compulsion to always read all of the credits!  I don't know, the Andy scene…

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus I'm guessing you're not a big Brecht fan…

"Onions are all I eat!"

"Let's face it, we can't care less about George's love life."

"I might be in the minority on this, but I don't think the show does physical comedy very well."
"This show's humour is all about witty remarks, surrealistic quirks, and visual gags."

Yes yes Mr. Wolfe/Alan!  That line about needing to show more public affection was kind of about all gay "roommates" on TV.

Rubin Farr agrees too.

Commenting just for this comment.  How I miss this show.  No one else I knew watched it when it was on, which probably helps explain why it stopped.

They also are watching Scrubs in the background of season 1 episode 17!

Kaurismäki?

I enjoy both of these shows and enjoy the fact that there is more than one good show on TV right now for me to watch.

Like seriously, how do you even remake this?  Read the same scripts but in an American accent?  Replace "Top Chef" with "American Idol"?  IT'S ALREADY IN ENGLISH SO YOU HAVE NO SUBTITLE EXCUSE JUST LEAVE IT ALONE PLEASE.

Amen to that.

Heil Honey I'm Home… surprisingly effective satire.

I recently showed my mother some Louie because I thought she would appreciate one of his parenting stories (the one about "sharing")… it was a strange experience.  She thought he was, like, REALLY funny… during a story about how his kids are jerks.

YES.  The Armando Iannucci Shows is (are?) just brilliant.  The Thick of It is of course great political satire, but The Armando Iannucci Shows… I would say it and Louie are the best two comedy shows that are not only hilarious but also truly "explore the human condition."
