Ah, ok, I'd forgotten so much of that. I think I was sort of out of it in that first season in following a lot of the machinations that were swirling around. Even today I get the feeling that the audience is supposed to see Jorah in a different way than I do because I never really "got" him as anything other than a

I feel like a big dummy because I don't understand how he is responsible for their deaths. Probably wasn't paying enough attention. Didn't they die because of the witch?

The French Revolution/Terror seems to be a good blueprint for what's happening right now.

Seems to me, everything went to hell in Mereen as soon as Jorah was banished. As badly as things have been going since he left, it would seem that Deanerys would at least pause and think about that for a moment before she so quickly tried to dismiss him. Clearly his council was pretty valuable and she needs it now

At the end of episode 8 I finally felt like there was nowhere for the show to go and keep my interest any longer. Clearly they can never achieve any success beyond surviving and after so many seasons it just seems like there's no point to continue following these people.

Oh, I loved the movie. I enjoy it when A Time Travel movie gets into the paradoxes involved. There is always a point where it's necessarily going to fall apart (although Primer did a damn good job of keeping it together) so I'm willing to give a movie a pass at some point.

But she says to the man (her future self) that he reminds her of somebody. I found it more difficult to understand why her future self would knowingly participate in having sex with her past self.

Really surprised by the review since this was by far my favorite episode of the season. The backstories were not only interesting, they had emotional power to them.

Rattle and Hum almost totally turned me off on U2. Maybe I wasn't getting the joke but to me they came across as a bunch of self centered assholes. The 90's stuff actually brought me back. That era seemed to be their attempt at redeeming themselves for the Rattle and Hum debacle.

Not sure that I can watch any more after this episode. The stupidity of the characters has reached a new low as demonstrated by the two idiots that take time out to get sexy in the middle of this.

My impression is that this is truly the low point for television. Absolutely no interest in watching.

I feel like I'm starting to get burned out on Defiance. Less and less of the characters are interesting sympathetic enough for me to care much now. I just feel like it's really getting into soap opera territory with no real heroes and instead just has everybody act in whatever way happens to serve that particular

I was afraid that Jamie was sending his brother into a trap but Varys has behaved in a way every since right before the purple wedding as if he was bring forced into a plot he didn't approve of. Here's hoping we get more information with the new season.

So somebody lies in court and sends another to their death and the condemned suddenly find themselves in a fight for their life and end up killing the other. That's tawdry? But in another situation, somebody is horribly mutilated and condemned to a slow and painful death and their companion chooses to not end their

Alexander is the one that's confused. The narrator of the song "Royals" is commenting on her reality vs the aspirational appeal of the songs that brag about Maybachs, trashing hotel rooms etc. What she's saying is that her crowd does not aspire to achieve what all of those songs brag about doing. It's a very humble

Actually, unless they manage to keep the final three free of brains, I don't think Tony has a chance. And I say that as somebody who thinks he's the single most critical person to making this a fantastic season. Trish, she may have a better image on the Island than it appears to us but I wouldn't vote for her.

Of course it would be real to them and seeing that sort of ritual is great. But giving the seer actual supernatural powers such as we've seen places the story in a different universe than the sort of reality based world that the rest of the story seems to be in. Every story has it's rules and reality and this

Sorry bro. Clearly I'm a poser. I'm going to go stick my head in this bucket over here.

I haven't seen that but if push comes to shove, couldn't Spencer bluff everybody into thinking he has the special powers idol? I mean, they all know it's going to be out there and they know he had a clue and it seems like the paper wrapped with the idol is what identified it as a regular idol. so, and I realize that

Forgetting some bad history (no crucifixions back then) the only part that I find off putting about this otherwise excellent series is the supernatural powers they grant to the soothsayer. It's fine to have him make statements and to allow for interpretations of his statements that make them appear to be
