tbf the Russian propaganda machine is pushing the talking point hard via astroturf campaigns. They literally are “using said racism as a shield against criticism”.

Eh, this is what I’ve come to expect from games journalists these days. I mean, perish the thought that someone calls out Russia’s war crimes without the old “But-but-but what about what the US has done in the past?”

Holy crap, can you please not feed into the whataboutism? At least not yet?

I skipped it at first, but once I saw how huge the open world was, I ran back inside. I can never resist the urge to pick up all the shinies! And in addition to that lower ledge, the end of the tutorial that drops you back at the bottom of the steps, I thought I saw another high ledge on the other sidedwith a shiny on

You don’t have to be most secure, you just have to be more secure than the next guy. That’s why I keep a fat friend around lathered in honey and bacon grease whose password for everything is “password123".

How did you get this on-set photo of Michael Bay’s new transformers villain??

Or he understands that it doesn’t matter who he trusts or doesn’t trust, other people’s perception of the situation can cause him a lot of harm.

Pretty sure the patriarchy gets on just fine without modern market structures.

I can kind of understand the “not closing the door when alone with a female” just as a precaution against rumors or accusations of impropriety (not excusing it, but can at least see some reasoning). But some other stuff in the filing? Eeeesh. Especially if she was terminated as part of eliminating a department that

Gross comment, no thanks!

Man, it’d be a shame if in the next paragraph I said something like

But if they present advantages and disadvantages, that already provides the incentive for exploration and experimentation and using a wide variety of weapons and what have you. The durability system (at least that particular durability system) isn’t required.

Ok, so why does that require the durability system to get players to engage with the different weapon options?

It still sucks no matter how many excuses you want to plaster over the system. Weapon durability in games is nearly always a chore, but BotW ups the ante by making them break absurdly fast. Like they are made from kiln fired clay.

I sunk around 200 hours or so into BOTW and the brittle weapon durability mechanic never stopped being utter garbage, no matter how many ways to deal with it I discovered.

If you want players to use different weapons why not give them advantages and disadvantages in different scenarios and against different enemies? Or make them so they’re only available at certain times? Using a crummy weapon durability mechanic doesn’t make gameplay more enjoyable. Why force players to hoard a variety

It’s because BotW’s system sucks. If the goal is to make the player use a range of weapons, there are much better ways to do it.

You can pay to remove these tiny little stack limits? That’s so tempting but I’m so fucking mad that is a thing that it makes me not want to play.
