The movie has tons of problems. But that one moment? That one made me very happy when I saw it in the theater for the first time. Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime in live action. Transforming and declaring that he IS Optimus Prime.

I laughed pretty hard just reading it.

Such sad ends for some for the people in that picture. And a couple who turned out to be horrible.

I can’t star this comment enough. I STILL randomly say the chicken pot pie thing to this day.

Counterpoint: Taskmaster is AWESOME.

R&M toes the line between nihilism and caring so much that it can be exhausting. And while some characters, read: Rick, definitely land on one side and push the nihilistic view, occasionally stuff peeks through that maybe Rick is wrong about his view on the universe. And that’s fine for that show.

I liked this show

What?

ETA: I see elsewhere in the thread wife was unaware of the open nature. That’s pretty damn gross.

I mean, in the show he left Cersei to fight the dead because it was the right thing to do. And he stayed until that was done. He just couldn’t bring himself to stand against her when everyone turned their attention back south.

Yeah. And I totally get at where you’re coming from that just because Jaime seems to be in a different place in the books right now doesn’t mean he won’t end up deciding to go back to Cersei and die with her in the end like the show.

That’s fair. Though I do think the show failed at making me believe Jaime’s final turn towards Cersei.

And you’re assuming the opposite trajectory. We just don’t know yet. Book Jaime is wrapped up in a story line (Lady Stoneheart) that never happened in the show. So who knows what will happen.

The show dampened my enthusiasm for the books, but I still very much want to see what happens there because there’s so much

2 shows that ended so poorly I have trouble watching them again:

But that’s wrong.... In the books, the last we see of Jaime is him deciding to ignore Cersei’s plea to come rescue her - before being accosted by Lady Stoneheart (yay cliffhanger!). He’d just ended the siege at Riverrun by playing up what everyone thinks he who is and what he’ll do. His whole goal was to end it as

The mid-fight marriage ceremony is pretty fun.

For all it’s faults, the moment in the 2007 Transformers where Optimus Prime makes his entrance and announces who he is made me deliriously happy.

Snyder does not “get” Superman.

I will never forget how much I hated Ward when the show started and thought him so incredibly useless as a character to him being by far my favorite by the end.

By the time Palpatine fights Yoda, he has already won. Yoda thinks he has a chance, but he doesn’t. The Dark Side is in full bloom and Palpatine is just screwing with him pretty much the whole time. Yoda is fighting a losing battle from the start. Personally humiliating Yoda is just gravy for him.

I like the Dooku

As we go, one last last time into battle, I offer you this:

I don’t get people being so angry about Boba Fett getting a show. Mando is getting it’s own 3rd season. Other than his big action set-piece in one episode, Fett was a total supporting character to Mando (sidekick indeed).
