As a white man, I know my genetic history going back to the 17th century because none of my ancestors were forceably enslaved, shipped across the Atlantic, and beaten until they gave up their birth name and started to use the names given to them by people who “owned” them. In 1997, I got to drive a 1984 (I think that was the year) Yugo that was sold in the US market. No power steering, nor power brakes, and a steering column at a very odd angle. Lots of steel. That thing was a tank. But it was fun to drive!
