Exactly the point. Because people in the US are so god-damned dumb, the rest of the world has to accept that sometimes you just have to allow for the incorrect usage.
Breathalyzer systems should be mandatory on all vehicles owned by anyone with a DUI conviction. I don’t care if your DUI was in 1953, you should have been blowing this whole time.
You know what ALSO solves all these issues?
Education and more stringent licensing requirements.
The DMV tests here in the United States are a joke.
Anyone who commutes regularly will see drivers who we all question if they know what they just did was illegal or if they just don’t care.
Not favoring education or testing…
The other problem with that is it takes forever for the systems to update. The hwy that I travel every day is 70 mph as of 2019 but my wife’s new car thinks it’s still 60 mph
The US has 300% more vehicle deaths per capita than Germany. How does Germany do that? Not with any of that BS you wrote about. They have strict licensing requirements and good transit infrastructure.
I bet we could save some more lives with a licensing process that requires people actually know how to operate a vehicle instead of passing a sign test and driving around the block...
I HATE the word “speeding”. What does that mean exactly? Were the speed limits set appropriately? Or was the limit 25 mph when any reasonable driver would drive 40, and, on any given day 80% of the drivers are “speeding” by going 35-40? Or are they talking about going 65 in a 45?
id be fine if that was the biggest issue. thef act you and I are both grey and nobody ever sees our our ocmmetns (when i had been a blue check marked approved ocmmentor on all sites for about 507 years priori to the great greying) is my bigger issue
how hard is it for apple to make two lists
“actively updated” and “no longer updated”?
Yeah, but even if they didn’t want to include backwards compatibility this could be a wholly different process. The email should be “your game doesn’t work, fix it or we remove it”, not “you haven’t done an update in a bit so it must be bad and we’re removing it”
You talk of uploading brains to a computer, but not popping out my brain and spine and slapping it into a robot body? All the immortality, none of the worries about interrupted consciousness, baybeeeeee
Gonna recommend the sci-fi book “We Are Legion (We Are Bob)“ (and the following “Bobiverse” series) by Dennis E Taylor because it hits on multiple of these. Basically, a modern-day guy gets a lot of money when his tech company sells out, so he pays for a service where if he dies, his body is preserved until such time…
There is no scientific basis to creationism, God did it, static, or the simulation idea,. Those or nothing more than fiction based ideas that have no verifiable observations supporting them as science requires.
At best static being an old idea, could be arguably outdated science due to lack of information available at…
If someone is considering killing a pet for a challenge it’s better they eat a Tide Pod instead.
The difference back then is that we didn’t have the internet and doing stupid stuff for “Likes”. We actually did stuff for the thrill..but we had the smarts to not to destroy school bathrooms so that we could get our video on TikTok too. One chump puts a ‘challenge’ on TikTok and it’s done around the globe in minutes.
Retirement? LOL
retirement security will be a thing of the past by the time most on here are old as the current average Boomer.
I’ve actually heard of all of these before but the author is clearly reaching a bit because at least half of these aren’t actual “challenges” (e.g. - tapeworm pills were not a challenge, people were just too vein and too dumb to know it wasn’t a smart way to lose weight; panty raids weren’t a “challenge”, they were…
