Always found it amusing that cars with manual transmissions from that era didn’t get a tach, yet the automatics did.

This is not the journalism we want. It is the journalism we need.

I feel like most of that get beach getaway would involve trying to fruitlessly get it off said beach.

So expecting a delay of a day or two then? :)

A turd emoji no doubt.

1986 Corolla SR-5 installed some bigger anti-rollbars fore/aft. Made the daily drive much more responsive, also resolved some tire rub issues I had with running 195s and very hard cornering pushing it darn near the bumpstops.

I had to do an emergency repair on my AE86 while on the road and did a quick and dirty electric fuel pump install in a parts store parking lot to keep things moving. The power for the pump relay I installed is tied into my electric fan, as that was the easiest accessory power source I could tap reliably in that region.

Totally rad!

Juke headlights, side profile of that generation of focus everyone want’s to forget from the late 2000s, with a hint of Toyota Venza for the roofline.

Heck, if they made an hatchback or shooting brake FR-S my hatchback AE86 would be sold so fast.

Yes you can, but a lot of servicemen (Source: Enlisted experience in the Air Force) mess their personal finances up catastrophically early on. Despite numerous attempts to educate both in basic, and tech school. Its mostly the 18 somethings that usually getting caught up in predatory lending of some sort.

Trump honestly has me worried that he will vilify all of us that willingly joined and serve much like it was before 9/11. So much so that I wont travel off base in uniform at all.

If I recall didn’t Tercels of that era have a similar setup? But with a manual lower belt that would be easily forgotten as you already had the shoulder belt on.

Its funny you mention that, we have the same issue with my wife in our 05 Caravan its a weight issue in our case. Weve broken two, but its not like the manufacturer is going to redesign the part or modify it for him by chopping off part of the top. (Our solution)

Un-presidented, un-jumpable waist high walls no less!

Would be nice to feel like I have some options, but Comcast is it here. The HD is compressed to the point where it doesn’t even look on par with old SD analog broadcasts on a vast majority of channels (Lots of heavy MPEG style artificating, color loss on both TVs on any non-premium HD channels).

Same here, I’ve been dailying the shitty single-cam carb version of the original 86 for close to a decade. The BRZ/FR-S feels like a rocketship by comparison to my maybe 70HP to the crank on a good day Corolla.

My only experience is an 1974 F7-175 that my father had done some work to. Just a tad over 20 crank HP if I recall, in stock form.

Sounds like a pretty similar arrangement used in a lot of Kawasaki 2-Stroke dirtbikes in the 70's. I am curious if they used the two-stroke oil to manage lubrication for the seal (Want to say it was intake only, they mounted the carb to the right of the crank making it super awkward to ride).

VGA resolutions, but super convenient to transfer. And de facto at the time.
