Well, she was sort of an homage to Storm, in a way. A young vagabond rescued from the streets. Farouk didn’t realize her potential in the comics, and she got away from him relatively unscathed. Her story arc really deserves a show of its on, I hope someday she gets it.

Enervating means tiresome; and I’m not sure if it was the Time Demons who got Farouk out of the painting/timeless stop-motion place. It was a place he’d already been before, thanks to Switch. So this time I think he just managed to find his own path out, and it turned out to be to the same time where everyone else had

Not someone like Kerry, though, who values action over contemplation.

Internships imply opportunity and training, which she wasn’t getting. So she set out to make her own opportunities,  a very Nancy thing to do, really.

No, see that’s the thing. She wasn’t a secretary. She was a reporter too. Only, because she was female, the only assignments she got involved coffee and lunch and puff pieces. The job wasn’t turning out as she’d hoped.

I’m saying the women in those movies didn’t just accept the misogyny, they had their own things going on, stories the cinematic narrative was interested in too.

I still have sympathy for David (his life has always been under attack), but I also noted, as did Switch, that he doesn’t care about her well-being and he threatened to force her to comply before the Time Thieves came for them all.

The episodes, while serial, are more episodic and distinct, and I think that’s a much better balance than S2 achieved.

I feel like Gwyneth Paltrow has got to be involved in this somehow.

That would be wise, but I’m more going with the quality of this season’s writing ideas.

And Thena is a scrappy fighter? I thought she was a wise scientist, based on Athena?

BUT in a multi decade phenomenon like Trek there not only can be (to judge by Discovery alone), there almost inevitably will be follow-up, eventually. And antagonists often make the best others of all, especially against ostensible heroes like Kirk.

Blue power suit to rip Mary Louise apart, pink power suit to assert motherly love. Like most everything else this season, bluntly obvious symbolism.

The only reason for season three is to see what Nathan does now that Bonnie has left him; of course he would end up with Renata.

Not a show I’ve checked out, but nice to know.

While I was very impressed with Michelle Williams, I think you can say part of the performance was the impersonation, which you can call mannered. It fits the era and the look and idea that women then were always putting on a show for the men in their lives ... but it’s still very actress-y. Whereas Adams was a

I couldn’t watch much of that season, but I do think his performance was inspired.

Not cool Mom!

I mean, you have to.

All Macfayden needs is a juicy role to sink his teeth into, the more neurotic the better.
