Yeah, I’m a bit surprised a Slenderman story was selected when we already know Slenderman is a creepy pasta creation and not a “real” cryptid. It was well written and spoopy though so I’m not complaining at all, was just surprised because it can’t be true? Unless our collective unconscious actually created Slenderman…
Ok! I thought that was just me. I read it and was like... ok he took an accidental picture, that happens. I do it all the time when I’m walking with my phone in my hand.
oooh bless you for these! There were some super scary ones from years past that I want to get cozy and revisit!
OMG thank you so much! I did the Djinn one, I grew up listening to these stories and I just get really excited about sharing them. I love spooky scary cryptids and beings from around the world. <3
SO SO SO SCARY. Yikes at just everything in his apartment. Wasn’t it Richard Ramirez whose uncle came back from the war with all this violent ideation that then influenced Richard Ramirez into becoming... what he became. Your aunt is was so smart to use her opportunity to escape, I’m so glad she had the presence of…
Ooooh the jet black dog as a disguise for the devil or a djinn is part of Islamic lore! I wonder what it is was, that’s so creepy! I’m glad you didn’t see it on your way back home from the river.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I think that was him reaching out to you too. <3
Ok but this was a great story! Did your friend have any similar experiences while she lived there?
LOL that was my first thought too hahahaha. Not at all related but the other day the fire alarm went off in my apartment complex and my cat immediately freaked out and dove under the bed and I flipped over the mattress and pulled the slats out from beneath the mattress to get her so fast. And the alarm stopped haha.
This was start-to-finish fantastic, thank you so much for sharing with us. I imagine how scared you were about getting caught for hiding that notebook but truly, thank goodness you did or perhaps this story could have been so much worse. I’m also so sorry about what happened to Sharon.
Oh wow, I had no idea people saw it! It got a small handful of stars, so I figured not many read it. I’m glad it spooked you!
Oh that’s so creepy! I went to UCD at around the same time, so I’m imagining the how oppressively hot the air was in the summer and the yellow grass everywhere, OR how gray and cold it is in the winter, and how maybe grabbing a little lift would seem like a good idea! I’m glad you’re ok!
Aww, that’s so nice! I don’t think I can write anything without there being a typo, just like I can’t manage to wear a shirt for more than 20 minutes without spilling coffee on it. Or getting crumbs in my hair.
This sounds so scary! I am so glad they avoided those men but I feel so awful for the owner who was just trying to close up. I wonder if he would have been safer if he just stayed the night there and hid? Such a terrible way to go too.
This made me so sad for Sue and so many old folks, or even not so old folks, who are on their own during their last moments. I hope her passing was relatively painless and that she had a happy life.
That crushing pressure feeling is definitely a thing, isn’t it? The guest bathroom in my aunt’s house (of the past 30+ years) has that feeling and I’m in and out of there so fast! Some people have died in that home but not traumatic deaths (just old age) so I can’t explain it.
Thank you so much! I love reading everyone’s posts all October. I’m happy to be a part of the spookiness!
