I’ve stayed on my diet since March 2, not one slip up (I don’t think I’ve ever lasted this long on a diet.) I’ve also become a regular at the gym. I wish there were more late afternoon classes but I’m usually the only one there at 2 pm so it makes sense.

Tonight, I introduced my son to Anchorman. When Brick Tamland appeared on the screen for the first time, my son turned to me and said, “Hey, is that you?”

Yay crafts! Thanks for starting a thread :)

Hi, I don’t know what your job is now, but if you don’t hate the thought, apply to any and all 911 dispatch jobs you see, I’m guessing california?  I would start with government jobs.com. They’re often willing to train from scratch and it pays really well actually the further west you go. I moved from the south and

hey thank you! he ended up responding and said ‘sorry got slammed with work. i’ll keep you posted.’ i responded - ok in that case i think i’ll take other plans. we can reschedule. i basically said call me when you’re free to go out. you know i’m interested in getting to know you. kiss emoji. then texted other guy and

YES. I just came here to write this. I’m a mom who stopped drinking 5 years ago, and back when my kids were younger and I was forced to hang out with other moms, they would look at me like I had 3 heads when I would decline an offer of wine. The responses were fantastic. They were speechless. “Wait...what? You’re

Came here to talk in more depth about alcohol abuse and the free pass wine gets for moms in our culture. Thanks. As a “hot mess” mom that leaned in hard to the weight and pressure of young motherhood to kids two years apart, I found myself using alcohol more and more alcohol to reward myself after the kids went to bed

Congrats, my wife just made day 75 sober.

I hate the “ha, ha, aren’t we cute!” culture of excessive brunch-drinking, happy hour drinking, weekend drinking, making dinner drinking, etc. We all know young people and alcoholics binge drink out late at parties or bars. But there seems to be a cultural attitude that drinking all the time as otherwise healthy or

This is more concerning to me. I've never drank more than since I became a part.of mom groups. And I keep a handle on it. I do not drink anywhere near daily. But the #mommyjuice is a problem no one wants to address

If you have to rely on alcohol to get you through your day, that is neither cute nor rebellious. That’s a sign of a serious problem — mom or not. If I were a teacher or a CPA or a bus driver, I can assure you no one would think I was cute if I talked about how much I needed an “ adult juice box” throughout the day.

This stuff has definitely been called out several times within the last few years, yet it somehow persists. I don’t get it because #mommyneedsadrink isn’t anything new current culture is just normalizing it.

I’m a mom (of a 3 month old and 3 year old), and while I identify with what they are talking about, I just find this whole “mom culture” thing to be really obnoxious- especially the constant wine-swilling mom trope. While I know it is exaggerated for the sake of “humor,” and I am certainly not against the occasional

There is an epidemic of alcoholism among mothers. It’s a really serious issue that is leading to early death among women and seems to be brushed off by such hashtags, or slogans.

That was a real point of contention in the case, whether they followed the rules and put the saw dust in the special bin with water or left it ten to fifteen feet from the house.

Congrats on the new abode and enjoy making it your own! Setting up the kitchen has always been my favourite part of moving in. Now that I live alone I can finally use all the Art Deco crockery I inherited without fear of the perennially (unintentionally) destructive ex boyfriend breaking everything.

Hi Jezzies, still waiting to go view my new home but apparently the keys will be back from maintenance this week. I’m overly excited and can’t wait. I’m going to need so much stuff when I move in, but over time I can get it. I did treat myself to some pans and baking trays today. I’m so excited I’m going to be getting

I LOVE JILL THE SQUIRREL. It is one of the few accounts that makes me consistently happy. I also follow Juniper and Pumpkin the Raccoon (though I believe her human had a baby so they haven’t posted recently). Other IG faves: @kittenxlady, @foster_kittens, @dogseatinggently, @owenthegriff, @cats.without.jobs, and @bugna

Love SNS? Ever wish it was available 24/7? A long long time ago, jezebel (and all the gawker blogs) had an openthread that was always available for just general chatting. This was back in the days when the comments were actually moderated. It was just a scrolling page of comments, nothing fancy. Jezebel’s was called Gr
