In addition, I always thought of the jetta as the car your sister drives. My sister has a jetta. I have no ex-gf's that had jettas. Most had camrys, corollas, civics, golfs, neon or the like but never a jetta. However, my sister has had one for years.
You missed this one:
1996 Acura Integra LS 5 speed, bought in October 2004 as my 1st car. It had Comptech 4-2-1 headers, tanabe medallion touring exhuast, Comptech ice box intake, Type R rear sway bar, cusco strut bar, fat five wheels w/ nitto NT555's, some JDM crap because that was cool at the time, later GSR cloth seats because they…
I'll have the V70R please. I'm a certified Volvo nut and I own/daily drive this 1996 855 Turbo wagon. I love the way turbo Volvo wagons drive, specifically the 850 and original V70. People always are under this impression that they weigh a million pounds, have the driving dynamics of a refrigerator, and take…
Back in high school and the first few years of college my best friend had a grey/silver MS6. It was good looking and very well equipped with comfy sport seats finished in black leather and a banging Bose sound system. The car was a blast to drive when it was running well, which was almost never because it broke down…
Bill is the man!
Cup holders (optional) on the Volvo 850. They pop out of the top of the armrest in the center console, which means that once you have a drink in the cup holder you cannot open the center console. They are made of the flimsiest plastic imaginable, and cannot bear the weight of anything more than a canned soda. Almost…
What a hideous vessel. These things all look so top heavy What ever happened to class and style on the seas?
The legendary 1995 Volvo 850 T5R in Cream Yellow.
Your Daily Driver is obviously the worst vehicle to have break down on you. Especially when the project car is down as well.
Queen Mary 2 scoffs at the "allure of the seas"
A 1993-1997 Volvo 850 series or 1998-2000 S/V70.
Totally agree. Love my 1996 855 Turbo!
People can call these the "poor man's Porsche" all they want but it's a Porsche to me. I think the 924/944 are quite good looking in decent shape and they really have fantastic handling. They are also reliable and "easy" to work on (by Porsche standards.....)
This car. My 1996 Volvo 855T. This car always makes me smile.
The current S60 is an excellent car all around. I have driven a T5 FWD and the R design models and I enjoyed both. Obviously the R design is much faster and more fun, but for what the T5 costs you really get your money's worth. They handle well, look very pretty inside/out, they're fantastically comfortable, priced…
Give them all a Volvo S80 with city safety, BLIS, back up camera and parking sonar....oh yeah and auto brake. Make sure its the 3.2 I6 as well as they shouldn't need to go anywhere fast in these anyway.
No love for the Volvo T5 engines? The Audi/VW 5 pot got mentioned but the much more common and mass produced Volvo engine was left out? The Audi sounds nasty but the Volvo 5 sounds so much more wicked when tapped.
Agreed! Any Volvo T5 really. They have a very distinct engine noise!
