Lego Batman is the hero we need, Batfleck is the hero we deserve.
“...and I felt like this film actively hated me.”
But there are movies and other forms of art that touch on all of those things in much more compelling fashion, and again, it still all boils down to “Good guys vs bad guys” when you get right down to it.
I feel like people are watching these movies for all the wrong reasons. Like, turn off your fucking brain and enjoy the superhuman slugfest for what it is, and then turn your brain back on afterwards.
I do wonder if this review is more just a reflection of the binary society we’ve grown into. Things are either OMG THE BEST EVER or Complete and total dumpster fire. There is rarely in between. So the totality of a person’s life amounts to nothing because they end up shitting their pants and drooling before checking out?
Man, the grey and blue batsuit is awesome.
