What gave me a bad taste about Man of Steel is that "Metropolis" in that movie was so obviously a stand-in for New York. Even 12 years after 9/11, I think there ought to be a moratorium on destroying New York in the movies. Other than that, I liked the film.

Agreed. Loved the spooky atmosphere until we saw the demon and then it became a weird Rob Zombie meets Michel Gondry movie.

Actually, as I understand it, the test audiences love it. It's more that some analysis shows that the marketing isn't working well. That said, I think they may be using crappy analysis for that, as they're showing more interest in Grown-ups 2, which is a film that literally not one friend of mine even knew existed…
