Thanks for answering! That makes total sense but I’ve never heard it or thought of it before. I am just starting to seriously plan for my own children in the next couple years. It scares me to think I might do something potentially dangerous without realizing it - and I’m more informed than your average bear! I’m glad

Asking out of curiosity: Do you have to stop breastfeeding when you become pregnant with your next child? I’ve never heard that before, though I don’t doubt it. I have heard that breastfeeding can be associated with uterine contractions; is that why? Can it create danger of miscarriage?

I agree with you for sure, but it isn’t like Louisville is more problematic in terms of sex ed and access to repro health than most other places. It’s actually way better off than most rural areas in terms of access (there are pp locations, an actual abortion provider exists in the city, other orgs doing education,

What sucks about this is that when the massive arm-wrestling tournament goes down that will finally determine whether women with or without kids are objectively better, the moms will totally win hands down because they get super strong arms from constantly carrying kids on their hips. It isn’t even fair.

Access to reliable reproductive healthcare including birth control is helpful to women who seek success in male-centered industries (and in general). I don’t get how it’s confusing, or how anyone can read this as trashing women with children. It’s about being able to choose for your own self when and under what

It’s almost as if she’s an actual human woman with multiple facets to her personality and intellect, with different moods that are evident in different circumstances! HOW STRANGE! HOW CONFUSING!!

EXACTLY. Let’s not try to pit women against each other at the drop of a hat!

Of course not.

The problem is that “due process” means something specific (and can’t just be a ‘shortcut’ for whatever you want it to mean if you expect people to understand your meaning), and that thing isn’t implicated in this situation, so he’s wrong and so are you.

When someone changes their subjective opinion of you, they don’t owe you due process. Same when a lot of people change their subjective opinion of you. He has no right to become widely loved and enjoy a stellar, unearned reputation. His rights have not been infringed. The government isn’t stopping him from speaking

I’m glad you have found a website that you like so much. I am happy for you and the Jezebel brand of the Gawker Media properties. Best wishes for a long and happy life together.

You characterize even the reasonable interpretations you don’t like as ‘misunderstandings’ so I’m not at all surprised that you can’t understand how I’ve drawn my conclusions, and can’t follow the logic of the previous commenter. Your agreement is not a necessary condition to the validity of another person’s

It’s in Louisville, not outside it. St. Matthews is like a weird little sub-city, there are a lot of them and they’re actually part of the metro gov’t.

I kind of want stories about the entertainment lawyers...?

I’m in law school now, headed into a non-lucrative field, and glad you exist!

LOLOlolol as a current law student I’m dying to know where you went, and don’t doubt your story at all.

As a current law student I appreciate you and your comment. I never thought of myself as type-A before and am now feeling quite alienated among even my most well-meaning of classmates/colleagues.

That is a distinction without a difference, in the context of the larger conversation. People aren’t expecting perfect consistency from this site. In fact, I’d say the writers and editors have higher expectations for their commenters/readers than they allow their readers to have for them.

But if young women celebrities don’t claim feminism, they are nonetheless condemned here regardless of their own reasons.

More like she meant “It’s complicated, people. Let’s talk about it... unless you don’t talk about it how we want to talk about it in which case we’ll create a bunch of content about how annoying you, our readership, are.”
