It's been patched in the PC version (as of 1.0.172) but it has to pass Microsoft and Sony certification before appearing on consoles. It's all on their hands now.

Glitches are the sole responsibility of the software developer, and for such a new (and expensive) game, players are essentially entitled to a fix. All efforts should be focused on fixing this promptly (getting a patch from Activision and quickly approving it) rather than trying to ban people who use it.

@Ecks: Simply producing plastic is fairly environmentally unfriendly, not to mention the shipping weight increases the release of carbon emissions during transportation. Disposal is only one part of it.

I just got an e-mail from Blizzard. I haven't touched WoW in three years, but apparently they want me to go back, offering me a week of free game time to enjoy their festivities.

@AshburnerX: I believe this also happened with The Orange Box, so it's not like Valve hasn't done this before. Remember, you can use retail PC games in any region regardless of price.

@DrunkAus: It's a dick move by Valve. Different prices/release dates/treatment across regions has been one major criticism against Steam.

I used to live in Mount Pleasant, MI. Most boring city on Earth. And Charter has a monopoly there.

@RemyTheGambit: An update on this situation: It doesn't matter. I caved in. I just bought the game off Steam. Now I feel ripped off, and I'm disgusted by my own weakness. It's downloading. The game's laggy as hell on the PC anyway. They'd better add dedicated servers or at least fix the lag.

100 copies... Activision must have printed more copies than the whole nation's GDP could buy

@Twanzio: The Maps application doesn't check Android version, it checks device. Meaning Google locks you out if you aren't using a Droid, not because you're not using 2.0. #googlemapsnavigation

@Kaminari: Don't pretend console gamers aren't pirates/immoral/etc too. It's relatively easy to pirate games for the 360 (with the slight risk of a Live ban, and if you RROD, you're on your own) , and unlike the PC, you do get a full multiplayer experience. The 360 pirates have had MW2 for way before the launch. #mode

@RemyTheGambit: You may not be a PC gamer, then. Call us arrogant, but no dedicated servers practically means "no multiplayer at all" for many of us.

@RemyTheGambit: Are you a console gamer? Or do you work for Activision?

I'm pirating this game for the PC, which is surprising considering the fact that I bought both WaW and COD4.

How about we just ship the copies when they are ready (when they go gold and enough copies are manufacturered), give an ETA and not worry about release dates at all?

@Kev618: That sounds pretty reasonable to me. I doubt there's actual combat in space. #modernwarfare2

@busboy33: I'd gladly screw you over. One week of downtime (if you compare that to the downtime Battlefield 1943 got after its launch, it really is comparable - especially when 1943 lacks multiplayer) is a small price to pay for dedicated servers forever. Activision, in the long run, is going to pull the master

@maraxusofk: I know there will be much opposition to this idea, with many claiming that it's immoral or just shows IW/the community at large how "immature" PC gamers are.
