Dating back to Red/Blue, I’ve always selected the water starter.  The only exceptions were Yellow, where you started with Pikachu and Sun/Moon because I had to have an Owl Ranger.  With Sword/Shield, I’ll be back to my normal pattern of water starters.  Looking forward to getting to know Sobble.

Pokemon has been a part of my family since Red and Blue were released in the United States. My oldest is also 23 and Pokemon on the Game Boy was one of the first video games he played and it inspired him to learn to read because he wanted to be able to tell which attack was which for his Pokemon teams.
