Yep, we had a lot of JDM Sports Gears arrive in New Zealand in the mid to late 90’s. Due to the excessive performance figures for a family wagon (and because Evo), a lot of these were snapped up by punters (or chop shop scum) who would remove the the 4G63 and associated drive train to drop in their base spec Lancers.

A couple of years ago, I attended an unveiling function at a rather fancy hotel. Someone in their infinite wisdom decided that the bronze statue in the hotel lobby needed credentials too, so they went to the trouble of putting its picture on an access pass, and draping it around it's metallic neck.
