A good friend of mine’s mother had a 2002 Windstar while I was in middle and high school. We’ll call the friend “V”. We actually did call V’s mother “Bob” because someone once said “Mom” with a head cold, and it came out as “Bob”. And the name stuck. Anyway, Bob and her husband—V’s father—bought the 2002 Windstar new

I’m not sure you even read my post. All that I said was intent and apologies are important, because people weren’t woke in small Indiana cities 35 years ago like they are today.

I’ve seen you making this same argument in response to several people and I got to call you out on your very narrow definition of racism. You’re either doing it intentionally or you’re mistaken/ignorant. In either case:

His tombstone better say “Installation is the same as disassembly in reverse.”

Every goddamned day in Atlanta....

EVERYONE around here thinks they are a King/Queen and DEMAND you let them zipper merge (after they’ve driven way past where the merge should be) in a “This lane ends” scenario, or will decide they don’t want to wait at all and just drive down the shoulder.

It’s not one car either....

Better than standing there with their finger and their thumb in the shape of an ‘L’ on their forehead.

This. I suffered for 18 years with a 2000 Tacoma 4WD SR5 that I loved and was a great truck in all respects except for the seating position. Only had 93,000 miles on it, but towards the end I just could not drive it for more than 30 minutes without my back tightening up, and had to sell it. My new F150 is like driving

yeah kid, im going to take an uber home because I had some sample wine at OG. Get real

Think of all the lives we could save if we made driving illegal. Fuck your "even one life" bullshit. Use math, not emotion.

Practically, it’s not possible. Between margin of error, the bodies processing time for alcohol, and common alcohol containing prosucts, a barrier of 0 would mean arresting a lot of people who themselves aren’t even aware they have any alcohol in their system, or may not have drank anything at all.

Oh yeah, it was meant as sarcasm. The “if it saves one life” logic is absurd. There are a million better ways to save one life. Hell, there are better ways to prevent DUIs per dollar spent than a checkpoint.

Hey, let’s just put a system in every car that makes it shut down and impounds itself if it ever goes more than 2 mph over the speed limit, or automated machine gun turrets that shoot anyone under the influence of drugs. Think of all the imaginary lives that could be saved with zero tolerance systems!

Those numbers seem impressive until you realize they don’t differentiate between 0.06 and impaired or 0.09 and not impaired at all. Like photo radar, this is about revenue not traffic safety.

I’m all for reporting a driver that’s noticeably impaired but stopping every single car that goes down a street on the off chance of catching the odd guy that’s 0.09 is bullshit.

Neutral: Trucks are just a substitute for land yachts. The family sedan of yore used to have a 20+ cuft trunk, seating for 6, and come priced well enough that you didn’t feel bad using and abusing it. Modern sedans just aren’t a good value compared to trucks, especially once you factor in resale value. A full size

...and the 911, which still has around a 25% take rate in the US.

More than 80% of vehicles NOT sold in the US come with manual transmissions. The rest of the world loves them... and the metric system.

By giving it a manual, it becomes the very sort of car that deserves a manual.

Does it deserve a manual? Is it a truly proper drivers car that will be enhanced by a better connection between man and machine, or does it only ape the sports cars of years past, trading feel and excitement for ease and safe speed?

A Miata deserves a manual. A GT86 deserves a manual. A 911 deserves a manual. Does this?

At the end of the day, he was just another person with an opinion. Also someone who formed the modern day middle class.
