This is still the best rendering. I don’t think Ford even knows what they’re going to do. They’re probably testing the waters with this and it’s just going to confuse people.

I’m a big fan of Thunderbird SC seats. 10 way power with lumbar and adjustable bolsters.

Age has nothing to do with it. Dale Earnhardt won his last race (Talladega) at age 49 and took 2nd in points in the year 2000. He was running 3rd on the final lap when he was killed in the 2001 Daytona 500.

You know they made those Supercharged with a manual transmission right? They were rear wheel drive with an independent rear suspension, and ride adjustable shocks by Tokico. What’s boring about that?

No because a citation is just a notice to appear to face a criminal charge. Just because she has 56 citations or whatever doesn’t make her guilty. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law etc.

That’s a ‘90 Probe.

A 1989 Thunderbird has an 85mph speedometer. This speedometer has zero on the left and 85mph on the right of a half circle gauge. That needle will continue past 85mph and point straight down.

You may think that, but then go check out how many PT Cruisers were sold over 10 years, and those were terrible cars. There are other examples of polarizing vehicles being successful as well because they stood out from the crowd. The 1994 Dodge RAM for example.

Yeah they went to the CHMSL in ‘92, I didn’t know they redesigned the deals. I do know they took the removal instructions out of the owners manual. Mine is a 1985 so pre-CHMSL. It always leaks a small amount of water from somewhere, generally at the back of the B pillar in the corner by the bedside. I’m used to it.

I’m hoping for a full length glass roof, like the sunroof in the new Super Duty. I think that’s the best we’re getting these days. I love driving my Bronco with the roof off, but once removed it never seals back 100% and it creates noise. Wouldn’t work for the price bracket Ford is pursuing.

Which basically exists now as the Expedition EL.

In California the tags indicate it has passed the strict smog inspection and has been paid, no back fees or DMV BS. In CA, the plates stay with the car. My 1989 Thunderbird has original CA plates and I wasn’t even born yet.

If a person of color is employed by a shop as an auto technician (for example), and a person from one of those groups brings their vehicle in for repair, they can’t all of a sudden decide “I only wanna work on cars belonging to people I like.” If someone is buying your time to repair vehicles, you don’t get to

I think you’re right. I just don’t feel the unintended alienation of their existing customer base is as direct.

Now playing

I think GMs jingle campaigns in the late 80s were brilliant, and I like all of them. The Heartbeat of America, We build Excitement, The Great American Road Belongs to Buick, Cadillac Style... The only one that sucked was “The New Generation of Olds”

That’s awesome. I don’t even know what they do.

Hi Raphael, great write up. I also learned to ride on an XR100, which I used to ride in the dirt lot on 2nd street in Davis by the bike overcrossing near Mace Ranch, where the Mori Seiki building is now. Once you ride you just want more, and I too am looking for something for the street.

I was fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time around the Focus RS earlier this year and every moment was a blast. What Patrick said is accurate, it is such a capable car.

Whats wrong with Thunderbirds?

Firebird I would understand, but hey leave Thunderbirds out of this.

4.5 years since this post lol
