I don't think he was arguing that his car was fast stock, he was arguing that it has considerable easy tuning overhead. Plus a Riviera is in a completely different class of car than an Accord.

Then that's where we agree. His car was quick for what it was, sorry to use the synonym 'fast' in place of 'quick'. I'm so happy to have had this week long discussion over semantics...

Leland Yee (D) of course being the one wanting to increase legislation on both videogames and firearms in order to appear tough of violence, when he was really selling guns to Asian gangs on the side.

But 13s in the quarter with slight modifications IS fast by mid to later 1990s standards, for the vehicle, in its class.

Then this is what we can disagree on. While nobody said "todays standards" until now, I'd still say its a fast car by today's standards.

Did you ask him for a time slip? Did you call him out on his claims? No, you just said his car was a "waste of time and money." If you wanted to call shenanigans, you went about it wrong.

I don't give a shit about your "credentials," you obviously cant read. I only give a shit about you shitting on someone else's car like your shit doesn't stink.

M&FF didn't disable the traction control. the new edge GT and new V6 are a dead heat in the quarter mile (see my links above). The V6 might have more horsepower but the V8 has more torque. The V8 is much better to drive and has vastly higher tuning overhead. Just see what a NON-PI (lousy intake and heads) 4.6L can do

I like how you put telemarketers and human beings in two separate categories. :D

So you had a 13s car and with some mods made it a 12s car. The guy with a Riviera took a 15 second car and made it as fast as that stock Formula.

By your standards, is your LS1 Camaro a 'fast car'? If so, then that other guy's Riviera is also a 'fast car' by nature of their similar quarter mile times.

That's fine. Road and Track must not have been able to get it to hook up because Car and Driver and Motor Trend were 5.5s and 5.4s to 60 for the New Edge Mustang. Come to think of it, R&T might not have disabled the traction control, which makes a big difference.

2004 GT was factory 1/4 mile in the high 13s, 0-60 was 5.4s, and it definitely qualifies as a 'fast' car. His Riviera was faster. You can shit on supercharged v6s all you want, but it still doesn't change that often just a pulley upgrade can make a big difference, and they can be seriously quick.

He says he had it running in the 13s after upping the supercharger boost. I'd say that's decently 'fast.' Its about as quick as my Mustang GT.

The suspension is great as long as you can manage the long wheelbase. I find that it will plow unless you accelerate early and shift the weight to the rear around a corner. Its kind of counter intuitive coming from my Mustang where that would induce oversteer, but the rear toe compensator links on the Thunderbird

I've been on TCCoA for 5 years and never heard of anyone who has built a "thundercat" that's epic.

There you go man. Mines an '89 'bird so its still pushrod with the EEC-IV OBD1 and speed density. I like all of the Ford computer controls because they are simple, but yes they are unreliable. I was thinking you might have better luck with the newer PI style 4.6 since they worked most of the bugs out but thats upto

Nope, the MN12 Thunderbird was actually shorter than the Fox (by four inches) but had a much longer wheelbase (11 inches longer). I'm not sure how the wheelbase changes between the S197 and S550, but they are similarly sized. Not counting the materials used, the SLA style and configuration of the lower control arms,

Sounds like its pretty much done for. Sounds like low miles for a 4.6 though, that's too bad. You ever think of putting in a PI motor? Somebody on TCCoA got a newer PI 4.6 out of a junkyard the other day for like $168. Might be worth checking out before you go through the hassle of parting your car out. Hows the
