You mean the taker states, the ones who get more federal tax dollars than they pay? Because take away those states subsidies and watch them free fall. I mean, Kansas already tried a little experiment and they basically bankrupted the state to the point where businesses were telling the state to tax them.

There’s no exception. I’m not a dictator, I cannot change the laws at the snap of my fingers. So, I help my clients to the fullest extent of the law. But, I advocate for a change in the laws.

No joke on the inheritance tax. Prior to the new tax law, 0.5% of taxpayers paid the estate tax and that’s when the individual exemption was $5.45 million and $10.9 million for couples. Now, it’s $11.2 million for individuals and $22.4 million for couples.

I agree with it, but it definitely needed to be raised (which it was under this tax bill) and indexed to inflation.

I guess if you live in some shithole state, that’s true. The states that people actually want to live in, that’s 100% false.

Then you’d be in violation of Civil Rights Act and you’ll get sued for treble damages and attorneys’ fees; and you’ll lose.

They literally do when companies pay wages so low that in order to live, people must go on government assistance.

You hit the nail on the head. I’m a tax attorney and I’m married to a physician. As you can imagine, we’re fairly well off. For a living, I get corporations and wealthy people to pay less taxes. However, I’m philosophically opposed to the idea (but, it’s my job, the pay is good, and I find the work extremely

Centrists aren’t inherently bad, they typically represent the “average” of the spectrum of political views.

Hahahaha. Oh man, you’re awesome.

Thank you! This is my exact sentiments whenever a non-lawyer argues with me about the law. I really think this was one of the unforeseen consequences of having the internet; it’s enabled anyone to believe they are just as experienced as professionals who’ve dedicated tens of thousands of hours to learning their area

And that’s why we don’t let non-lawyers practice law. As if his point didn’t hammer than home further enough, up comes you to beat that dead horse into submission.

Read the entire decision. The judge looks at the 1st Amendment issue and holds:

I’m guessing you’re not a lawyer. If you were, you’d understand that this is a PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION and the full blown 1st Amendment analysis isn’t required.

Someone needs to read the order:

CBS will really not be hit hard by cord cutters because they’re a broadcast station. A $15 antenna is all it takes to get free CBS (and ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS and I think the CW).

So, if what you say is true, then doesn’t it logically follow that the first person to market a line of women’s pants with actual, usable pockets would make tons of money?

I mean, in NYC you still have to walk a decent amount between stops, unless you’re maybe in midtown Manhattan. When my wife lived in Brooklyn, depending on the line, it was either a 10 minute walk or a 20 minute walk (the 20 minute was for Manhattan).

Ugh... I couldn’t even imagine an NYC subway with carpet. God, being in those things in the middle of a hot summer day with no AC, jam packed next to people of questionable hygiene is one of the worst experiences. Add carpeting to that mix so that it holds all those wonderful smells? I think I just threw up in my

Oh, totally agree. When I was down in DC for a conference, I went with a friend on the subway and it was my first time. I was blown away by it just because it looked so new as compared to NYC and Boston. Though, I have heard they’ve had some major issues in it, but I’ll be damned if, just based on looks, it wasn’t
