Can I just say that someone that works in the Energy industry(mostly renewable in the past) and has been deeply involved in both the waste question and fusion(including very tangentially ITER): this article is awful, preachy, badly researched and full of emotive opinions with a poor evidence base.

Nuclear Fusion Will Not Save Us

I have always found the near unanimous love for the first one kind of...baffling?

Yes, it’s a ridiculous thing to suggest.

Police aren’t immoral. They are a necessary evil. Hobbes defined the state as that which holds a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence in a given area. The police is the primary way through which the state exerts violence on it’s people.

I like data as much as the next guy, but how do these numbers stack up with gun ownership percentages. We have trigger happy cops because we have trigger happy civilians. Compare firearm murder rates and numbers of cops killed in the line of duty as well.

I almost always send single texts with multiple sentences vs separate texts for each sentence. Maybe this makes me an old, but I prefer receiving texts this way as well. I hate hearing my phone sound off three different alerts for what is essentially one text/thought from a friend. I feel the long text with proper

Those comorbidity studies have only been performed with data from cases of COVID-19 in humans. I have seen no evidence thus far that conservatives have even the slightest hint of humanity.

Ew no.  It was a doctor who originally designed the ps1 and the dual analog design.  If you put your hands out in front of you, your thumbs are horizontal, not staggard.  Hold a ball and see where your thumbs are.

No please no. The symmetrical sticks might be the main reason I chose a PS system to start with. It feels so much more natural

Yes.

Oh yeah! I forgot to add the cost of monitors. You can easily exceed the cost of a console on a single MID-RANGE monitor with a high refresh rate. Or you could get a PS4 Pro and a 4k HDR TV at today’s prices.

Not just that, but $400 for a console that doesn’t require hardware upgrades and a projected life of 7-10 years. It also has simple repair services and a warranty.

I’ve spent double that on a GPU upgrade. Multiple times. In less than 10 years. And a motherboard replacement, which meant I needed a new CPU and RAM

Seldom do I ever agree with the opinions of the writers here, but Joker was not a good film. The best I can say was it wasn’t bad.

Now you know how fans who didn’t enjoy The Last Jedi felt. Finally, there is balance in the Force.

One hour in and I’m all like just let Filoni and Favreau do all the Star War from now on.

I was going to write up some elaborate old-timey snake oil pitch but I just don’t have the energy. This is modern day snake oil. It does nothing. Stop buying this shit.

So insurance companies don’t rely on younger healthier people on their plans to cover costs for the older expensive people on their plans? That is why they never offered plans to young people that cover virtually nothing to subsidize their expenses.

I love how literally every argument here is disingenuous. “Who will decide what is covered and what isn’t?” Well, who decides that now? Would you rather it be public servants who can be voted out or HMO execs answerable to literally no on but major shareholders? “Why would we think the federal government could get
