How in the hell is cooking a benefit derived from our education and resources?

Don’t have kids. Don’t want kids.

Dealing with the plethora of retards on here, it’s bound to wear off.

I’m going to stop YOU right there.

No, someone who is well versed in cooking at home to save money and time is giving advice on how to do just that.

Well, if you consider someone who has done the utmost to achieve, then yes, objectively I suppose I am impressive. However, I just do what I think is right.

Literally the exact same way I did when I lived in a tiny studio in Boston with a small fridge/freezer and a very small stove.

Yes, but your whole point about lunch breaks not counting is moot. My lunch breaks don’t count either, because I don’t get them.

What are you talking about? What lunch hour? You mean the 20 minutes I eat at my desk while doing work?

And do all the laundry, cleaning, errands, miscellaneous crap, and every other thing a normal person has to do. I know, I must be completely amazing since you’d think, based on the comments here, that if someone works more than 40 hours per week, they’re rendered incapable of cooking for themselves.

What the hell are you talking about?

Did you just cite two of the cheapest ingredients on the planet? Baking powder is about $5 for 15 lbs. Flour is maybe $3 for 15 lbs. These things are called staples for a reason. If you have them, you can cook a ton of things with them. Which is less expensive than buying processed food.

Never got into a situation in which that was a possibility.

Your third paragraph goes to the heart of what I’ve been saying. People have the time, but the choose to not cook. I didn’t particularly feel like spending 5 hours of my day off cooking. But, I knew that it’d make my week a lot easier. So, instead of not doing it, I did it.

My wife works 6 days per week, usually pulling 80 or more hours per week. Somehow, she still manages to have free time, even to cook once in a while.

Really? That’s a pretty god damn stupid definition.

Reading’s difficult, isn’t it. Let me help you. I will break it down using smaller words.

I have literally never met a person who works 7 days per week, every week, forever. Never, in 33 years, have I ever. The vast majority of my friends are “poor” and they work as much or less than I do, and certainly about 30 hours less per week than my wife.

As I recall, cooking (basic cooking) was a requirement in middle school in my district. But, beyond that, libraries are free. Recipes can be easily found. Cooking is literally following instructions.

Why are you making some ridiculous assumptions?
