As a film/video editor, I use this "technique" a lot. When you're digging through 45 hours of interviews, it really helps to be able to listen to it a double speed and still know what the person is saying. (Mainly on FCP, though. I hate listening to the "chipmunked" audio on Avid at 2x.)

I also like to use Stock.XCHNG. There's not a huge selection there, but they've always come through with what I've needed.

Just keep in mind that the tighter you wrap these thin cables, especially around a hard edge like a credit card, the more stress you're indroducing to the wires. Eventually they will fray within the insulation and you'll have non-working or malfunctioning earbuds.

It seems like the post boils down to two things: spend less, invest more. That's it.

While this might be convenient for the host, as an invitee, I would be pretty annoyed by getting an automated call like this.

I tend to use virtual CC numbers for small merchants I may not have heard of or seem to have no replutation... especially around Christmas time. Places I'm familiar with I'll just use the plain old CC number... why?

If you want added protection against others resetting your password (or doing much to your Mac at all), you can put a password on the firmware itself. Here's how:

What this extension seems to do differently than simply highlight all is dim the page except for the found words (which is mainly what Safari does). This should increase the visibility of the found words.

To be honest, I've never really understood the need to keep an empty inbox. Even though my mail program checks my accounts every 5 minutes, I manage to deal with messages as they need to be dealt with and not think "OMG! My inbox has 15 read messages in it! I need to sort all these now or I'll never know what needs to…
