While I agree about the false sense of security, I (and I hope most people) realize that anyone with enough time and effort/knowledge will be able to crack something as simple as restrictions/passwords on a pdf.
to add to reuel's comment, if you're on a desktop Mac, hold control and hit 'Eject' (you may have to hold down Eject if you have 10.4.9). That will also bring up the sleep/shutdown/restart dialog.
At first I thought "I can already do this in Preview," until I read about the copying/printing bit. This is a welcome tool as sometimes I am forced to send out sensitive info that I would prefer people not be able to print or send along.

Aside from the font size, I'm fine with the redesign. The information is just in a different place and I'll have to re-train myself where to glance for info, but that's it.

While somewhat similar to Pete H's AC, it really is a different, smart idea. Make ice in off-peak hours to lessen the actual AC load durring peak hours be keeping the refrigerant cooler.
The best of both worlds: IMAP with local copies in a dedicated program.
