True. And his body language when he says it is part of it, too. And the little pause right before makes me think the internal dialogue in his head is “Don’t say the n word, dont say the n word.” Except in his head he’s definitely saying the word.
“when I was working with a lot of women and families who were involved in the education voucher program, you know, here in D.C., and people would say well, you know, uh—and these were blacks who would say—“
I am so over the “calling racists racist is the real racism” song and dance.
“How can you look squarely at my long history of racism and call me a racist, huh?”
*BLACKS.
The open admission that he has “a paper trail” stretching over 30 plus years of terrible things that he has said was my favorite part. But how he says “blacks” was a close second. These people are officially off their leashes. Damn.
I’m not blaming the victims! I’m blaming the Dean who was like “yeah we’ve received complaints but I can’t do anything about it.” I’m sorry, what??
And it seems pretty apparent that she often suffered from serious postnatal depression.
The writer somewhat awkwardly shoehorned (heh heh) a book review into a different essay entirely. Neither are bad, but both would have benefitted from being fleshed out further separately.
That doesn’t make much sense. William looked happy for them at the wedding, this “doesn’t approve of Meghan” surfaced much later and doesn’t match the timeline at all.
The dean wouldn’t y’all to the journalists but, some of the parents had gone to see him about it and he said there was nothing they could do because a father is allowed to visit his daughter. I imagine Ray had threatened them and that will come out at some point.
I don’t get it, Sarah Lawrence. An ex-con who is not a student living ON CAMPUS in a dorm with young men and women, and campus officials didn’t see the potential huge problems with that? How could the Dean not know or care about the obvious safety issues? How did the Dean think the students felt about having to…
Exactly my first thought! A dad living in the dorm? How?!?! Sarah Lawrence has some ‘splaining to do.
Also how the hell was this able to go on at a school that has less than 1600 students?
How the hell is a parent allowed to live in a dorm???
So, this dorm was it more like an apartment that had no supervision from the college? The dorms at the college I work at have a live in faculty member for both the male side and female side, and electronic locks that need the students ID and key code to get through..
This isn’t even true. I can name several authors easily off the top of my head who ascended to a major level of fame. That line is -- weird.
Fuck Bernie.
There is more than enough rope to hang Bernie on that he didn’t need any help at all. For real you Bernie stans are funny as shit about his sketchy voting history, taxes and his sudden desire to defend his wealth. He’s accomplished nothing meaningful after thirty years in the senate but hey grifters gonna girft huh?
