Agreed. It commits itself fully to its plot without an inch of cynicism. Also the special effects are just mind-bogglingly, insanely, hyperbolically… fucking amazing.

My feelings EXACTLY. The community here (when it isn't ripping anything and everything apart) is great, but the writing has become increasingly and unnecessarily snarky. The Tolerability Index is a chief offender. "Seasonal flavors? What-EVA".

I love the aesthetic consistency in Say Hi's album art. Consistency floats my boat.

I prefer the one before it… 'Oohs & Ahs'. Plus the cover is awesome, and looks a lot like this new record.

Wow, from the headline I could have sworn the song would have been 'The Apologist' from their underrated classic, and my favourite, Up.

Freeman was such an insane get for the feature. Wow.

Whoo, I love the Taste Test segments. Sometimes I'm the only person who likes the lonely Taste Test videos on the very odd official AV Club instagram.

I was SO into Sailor Moon as a 14 year old boy in the 90s. I even made my own keychain using a bubblejet printer so I could take a piece of fandom with me to school. I also got my parents to order some Sailor Moon stuff from the US for me, and the box came with a note saying "to the birthday girl".

Do you recommend it for someone who never plays FPS? I'm awful at them, but I really like the story aesthetic I've been hearing about in Wolfenstein.

Man, I wish I had time to play Persona 4 so I could participate in this thread. Unfortunately there's not enough time in my life to play RPGs.

Have you noticed that, at least up to this point, review scores for the next (current) gen have been much less hyperbolic than the previous gen? AAA games like Second Son have good reputations but have 80s on Metacritic. In the previous gen an 80 pretty much doomed them to failure.

From what I gather, that's a pretty accurate assessment. But I still had to aim and shoot. Most games I play are either 3rd person adventures with auto-aim or, like, platformers? Hmm, so I wonder if I'm biting off more than I can chew with a game like Wolfenstein.

No Pier 1 Imports?

Seems like we had exactly the same transition from hate-watch to actual enjoyment. I'll never watch Friends again without thinking "David Schwimmer, the last living Friend"… RIP

Someone still loves you, Revolution

I don't really play FPS games (partly because of the culture, partly because I suuuuuck at games which require actual skill), but I'm thinking about picking this up because of the lauded story elements. Last FPS I played was Bioshock: Infinite, which was… OK… and the last FPS I played to completion before that was the

My high school friend (nickname: Cheese) was super, super into Oasis for a while. He used to walk around doing the Liam two-fingers-up gesture and tried to grow a monobrow. This kind of turned me off the band for a while, but I've slowly come to accept them a bit. Noel definitely has some great songwriting chops, even

I've always found their songs to be overlong. It's like… oh, cool little melody, but did this song need to be over 4 minutes? And that was on the first two albums… so I'm not exactly chomping at the bit for a badly reviewed album.

Saw them live a few years ago, and there was maximum shredding, mostly in the poses shows in the LP1 album art. Personally by favourite Ratatat album is LP2 (aka Classics). Rrrroooowwwrrr!

Yeah it's a really great album. My sister was really into it and I bought her an official Hey Hey My My Yo Yo yo-yo for Christmas a few years back.
