I’m a little surprised each episode is an hour. I really feel like comedies are funnier when they’re only ~30 minutes.

I love Michelle Obama and would 100% vote for her for basically any voteable office, but I find it really odd that her production company is releasing this documentary. (a) Aren’t there a million documentary filmmakers in Brooklyn alone would would make something like that? (b) Wouldn’t anyone in Hollywood fund this?…
I bike down to Red Hook from Astoria just to get a sandwich there. As soon as this quarantine is over, that’s the first thing I’m going to do.
Apple must be trying to put together a “Cheetah Duke” about a bunch of accredited zoo owners who are boringly polite to each other.
Is there anyone who is as effective at both the dramatic and the comic? Maybe JK Simmons? Even then, it’s a dead heat.
There’s another channel, Dianxi Xiaoge, that’s shot in almost the exact same style. The first time I saw it playing in a Chinese restaurant, I had the same thought.
I would love a Star Wars Episode X: Attack of the Werners
God, I would KILL to see that footage. Werner was one of the best things about a very good series.
It’s kind of funny how much Amy Heckerling succeeded in making up a bunch of teenage slang, whereas (in my opinion) Juno missed.
Just want to add a non-cynical voice to the pile and say that I agree with what you said, and it makes me want to look into some of the later episodes.
J. Kenji Lopez-Alt did a video recently where he made pan pizza, and he makes a sauce from scratch in the video:
Yeah, I also don’t agree that he’s a mediocre standup. He seems to care the most about craftsmanship than any other comic I can think of. I think he’s made a conscious effort to make everyone laugh instead of a small audience, which I think dulls his blade. But I’d guess he was in the 80th-90th percentile of comedians…
Get to work.
Obviously people aren’t eating here every week for a year. For most non-billionaires, the restaurant is a once-a-decade treat. It’s like staying in a really fancy hotel for a night. You don’t have to do it if you’re okay staying at a normal hotel whenever you stay out, but if you’re having an important birthday, or…
I like his white Wellingtons.
I don’t like how quickly that Grandpa Simpson quote has become my whole existence.
Even without the safeguards, from the article:
I loved Seimetz’s (and Kate Lyn Sheil’s) work on The Girlfriend Experience, looking forward to this new jam.
I totally blanked that it was a Carlin bit! My bad.
There’s that old saw that when you’re driving, anyone faster than you is a maniac and anyone slower than you is an idiot.
