I basically can’t watch Aliens because I played so much Starcraft. When I tried to watch Aliens for the first time, I realized how many of the unit vocalizations were ripped directly from the movie, and it was too distracting to get past.
And twist-based storytelling is the last thing I think of when I think of Ted Chiang. If anything, he pays more attention to the emotional effects of the premise than other works do.
Ken Liu did a great job translating his parts of the series; I slightly enjoyed his translations more than the work on The Dark Forest.
Wasn’t pizza rat a hoax / art project? This smells even more so like one.

The Coens write great narration. I think Bad Santa is one of the few director’s cuts that’s worse than the original, mostly because it removes the narration.
I feel like I’ve seen this guy in a movie or two, but I can’t for the life of me put my finger on them. He certainly has an interesting face. (I think it was Layer Cake.)
As much as I love both iterations of What We Do In The Shadows, I’d rather see a 1st Waititi Star War than a 2nd Thor or a 3rd+ Shadows.
I’ve (honestly) heard that the 7-Elevens in Japan can’t be missed.
