The last metallish band I got into was Spotlights, who I'm seeing open for Deftones tonight. They lean more toward the shoegaze end of the spectrum, which is perfect for me. Before that was Lord Dying, which I might have picked up from a random comment on this site?

Yeah, some songs (like Honey) are way too hard to sing. But Always Be My Baby is reasonable. And if you're doing a private room with a bunch of friends, no one gives a shit if you can't sing the notes.

I found her music before and including Heartbreaker to be very charming. Always Be My Baby is still among my top picks at karaoke (and All I Want For Christmas, no matter what time of year).

I don't know anything about this movie, but based on this review, it does have one thing going for it: it's one of maybe 5 movies I can think of with a female antagonist (and there seems to be two!). So that's something.

I would watch a Harley Quinn movie. Maybe they could fire the exec who caused Michelle MacLaren to leave Wonder Woman, and Vince Gilligan could write it, and I guess that's about as close to AVClub fanfic as you can get.

In my opinion it's well worth paying for. You can get a Hulu sub that skips ads for slightly more than the ad-supported sub, if that helps.
