There’s no new law involved, and ANCAP’s not “requiring” anything: they’re not a regulatory body. You just won’t get an ANCAP 5 star safety rating if you don’t offer the feature.

That’s just incorrect. You just have to have federal tax liabilities of at least $7500 to qualify for the full amount, it doesn’t matter how much you’ve had withheld throughout the year.

That’s not how it works. If I owe $0 at tax time normally and paid over $7500 in taxes during the year, they will send me a $7500 check. A refundable credit means even if you have no income and therefore 0 taxes the government will send you the refund.

I knew someone who, for years, would buy only Oldsmobiles because she knew where all the controls were in an Oldsmobile and hated learning a new layout. She kept this up right up until Oldsmobile was killed off as a brand.

This is ABSOLUTELY the time to buy if you’re so inclined to “need” a truck like this. A few years ago it would probably be being offered for $25k. It’s not my taste but if you tow a camper, not a bad deal.

I know many farmers that get brand new heavy duty trucks every year. I used to sell GMC’s and we had the same guys come in like clock work. The trucks they traded in had 30-60k miles on them.

I’m sure having a vehicle that can comfortably tow a rated load has nothing to do with the longevity of said vehicle. /s
