He didn’t say it was an “all season” he said Michelin all seasons would be better.

The FCA brands are also notoriously competitive. It’s seems possible that Dodge had already allocated all of them except what had been given to RAM and were unwilling to give any to Chrysler.

Pretty sure they’ll need to keep mining for more battery materials. And for most sources of oil is the initial extraction is dirty and pumping just isn’t much afterwards.

Yup. The interior is nicer now though.

Sergio Marchionne famously didn’t want to make a Ferrari SUV when he was the CEO of publicly traded FCA which owned Ferrari. He famously died. It was sad. Shareholders aren’t a new thing to Ferrari. The Agnellis and Piero Ferrari control the company anyway and want to make even more money so they’ll make a crossover.

Modernizing and parts commonality helped. It was the Cayenne that let them thrive.

Pretty sure FCA wanted Ferrari to make money when they owned it. Pretty sure the Agnellis and Ferrari still control it.

Porsche needed the Cayenne when it came out, now, maybe not, but being part of VAG likely helps.

They basically did this in the SRT8 a decade ago. Not exactly what people were hoping for, I’d imagine.

Now that Ferrari is free from FCA they do need something to pay the bills,”

This isn’t Porsche struggling to survive and needing to make the Cayenne though. Ferrari could keep going making lower production cars indefinitely.

It’s 100 cars as a test case, they likely won’t be depending on these cars to actually do what they want. And they may not pay you for excess electricity you feed back to the grid, but it’s possible the meter will just run backward when they pull electricity up.

Because a TV show host being able to actually give a whole audience of people cars was, and still is, a crazy stunt that had been ramping up over time. It also cannot be stated how big Oprah was at the time at the apex of the daytime talk show and before entertainment became generally balkanized.

How do any of those things negate the utility of an SUV?

Spoiler: it won’t.

I hate the switchgear just as much as the color choices.

Sure. People otherwise leasing the truck will agree to save $300/year. And cars will be more common than batteries in houses over time.

I remember arguing with a certain writer when they were a commenter because what they wrote never made any damn sense.

God these things are always mechanically amazing and otherwise look like super fancy Mitsuoka Orochis.

It’s on leases, so it’s basically free money for the lessee , even if maybe they lose a bit more range by the end of the lease.
