Marketing and lobbying are different departments, you know?

Large, centralized and pooled test drive centers could handle this while still having a much smaller footprint than normal dealers. One presumes service centers would still be necessary, so locate them there.

That would hurt sales, but that’s not why they only ever sold 10-15% compared to other crossovers.

The Japanese/Koreans mostly offer niches because they produce them for overseas markets so they just need to Federalize them. The big 3 are less able to do so. Not that they don’t at all. Ford could bring back the Focus, and FCA could always update the Fiat 500. GM and Ford kept the Colorado and Ranger updated

Nah, FCA can do it because they also sell them for almost nothing and will finance anyone.

Profits also factor in.

Show me one enthusiast and I’ll show you at least 2 completely contradictory opinions.

We’ll see on the upcoming VW. An EV Microbus would be pretty epic. I also know the Explorer wouldn’t even be on my list for a 3 row CUV...

Thank goodness I live in a place where this isn’t an issue. Most options in Denver have tons of eggless options. Or just don’t go overboard.

A lot of it is perception. Which I actually think is fine in cars. They’re more than just transportation. I like the looks of the Flex, but I’m in the minority.

I don’t even agree with most of the editorial viewpoint at G/O Media, but I can’t imagine what the current owners thought they were buying and what made it valuable. This is all ridiculous.

This is good kinja. As they say.

They did that specifically BECAUSE it didn’t sliding doors.

Yeah, the only reason Dodge trudges on with cars that old is that they can move over 100k a year of them.

Sales continued to drop, and it needed a refresh. Yeah, the prior development was paid for, but that doesn’t mean the opportunity costs we’re real.

Mitsubishi is back over 100k for the last 2 years surprisingly.

Holy shit, they pulled the Autoplay Ad Feedback Articles. This will definitely go well...

That’s fine, but it makes zero sense for Ford to keep making it.

Well, the Flex beat that by 3 Model Years. And that shares the basic measurements with a Ford Edge.

transfer case/power transfer unit was pretty unreliable, and loved to grenade itself without notice”
