Most of the podcasts I like do pretty regular live episodes. It seems like a blast for both the hosts and the subsection of fans who go to these things.

Fact: Live podcast episodes are awful, and it’s a terrible trend. They are usually an auto-skip for me.

Can’t watch because I’m at work, but I’m guessing the answers are “annoying fans, technical difficulties, bad audio quality, and wasting about 10 minutes introducing the concept of this podcast to people who showed up but have never listened before” since live episodes almost never seem to benefit from being live.
