The base Corolla hatchback with the NA 2.0L engine weighs 3,060 lbs. I could see the AWD GR Corolla coming in under 3,300lbs.

This is fair context. The city i spend the most time in is Denver and traffic is pretty choked there in lots of parts of the city all day. I used to live in downtown for years and i mostly got around on my bike as it was less of a hassle. But if i had to get out to the burbs i could see your point for this sort of…
This looks cool but if youre looking for true urban transportation it’d be cheaper to buy an ebike with really no effective loss of functionality if youre using it in a city.
The upgraded interior is gonna be great for a certain subset of buyers — people who don’t necessarily need to show off luxury (it’s still a 30k car) but who want more comforts, amenities, and higher-quality interior touchpoints. Making it a liftback, too, adds a definite value proposition.
Rory, this is obviously a heartfelt piece and I appreciate that. As with almost everything you publish here, it’s very well done.
Any current model year Mazda that isn’t the Miata.
Why? This Caddy is clean, rare and highly collectible. That M5 was rolling trash in need of extensive major repairs.
So I guess with David and Torch leaving, we’re just going to completely give up on stories focusing on vehicles other than “well a bus is kinda involved” then goes full on a political rant. Mercedes, you may want to leave while you can because this isn’t a car site anymore.
Not defending the choice of these turds in any way but consider that these trucks are basically doing stop and go every 60-80 ft in an urban neighborhood and I can completely understand how the mileage is going to be complete crap. I expect that if you did this drive cycle in a Honda Fit you would get crap mileage as…
Having recently rented a wedding venue, I can say that $1300 / hr is pretty well in line with a nicely appointed rustic barn or a decent urban event space. Catering and bar costs stack on top of that.
Your Prius will be “forced” off the passing lane by an Audi Avant diesel cruising at 220 kph guzzling diesel paid for by the driver’s employer.
A Mercedes S-class.
I had a short run at an ad agency. The classic Lucky Strike campaign was required learning. Basically, an ad agency guy asked a Lucky Strike exec how the cigarettes were made. He listed the ingredients and described the tobacco as being “toasted” during the process. The ad exec latched onto the word “toasted” and…
I thought that was a weird take too. I’m no expert, but from what I’ve read I thought people’s biggest issue is food waste, not raw food resources. There should generally be enough food grown, but the distribution and storage systems are heavily where improvement is most needed.
And while that’s all very true — we are on the precipice of a global food emergency and have been for some time
That’s not a concrete rule. A huge percentage of houses gain value faster than the cost of upkeep and maintenance.
I will happily buy your house for less than you paid for it. I will do it today.
So hideous in fact the first 2 model years are sold out and being sold a minimum of 10k above msrp. lmfao....
“It also wants to come to the U.S. at some point, but for now appears to be going to countries with the most EV demand, because Nio is also a business.”
