9 out of 10 times this has nothing to do with engineering and everything to do with management or department bullshit.

1st gear: This has to be the most ridiculous recall reason to blast Tesla in a headline. Really, who cares? It’s a minor issue, hardly safety related, and will be fixed while the owner sleeps.

I received a recall notice for my Audi yesterday saying that if a module under the rear seat got wet (spill or water ingress from a shoddy body seal) the entire car might stop working.

“Tesla should probably just tell its customers that its cars are in perpetual beta.”

They aren’t actually responding only to a 6 month old event, they are primarily talking specifically about the Build Back Better meeting that just happened last Wednesday 1/26. This was specifically mentioned in the petition actually and is hard to miss. Not sure why your report does not mention that at all?

Cars are pretty good at being able to tell exactly where each fob is.

One car family here. Motorized seats allow for memory settings. Eliminates a huge annoyance.

As a technician, I appreciate....deeply.....the amount of data that my scan tool provides me. I want to see it ALL. I want to see what the ECU sees when I press a window button, activate a dome light, or what gear is being commanded.

I also want to see freeze frame data from when your MIL illuminated. What was the

I used to do work like this. we had a guy at the docks that would call when a container ship full of TV/VCR combos would come in, he would tell me what truck and what highway it was on

Now let’s talk about the VR5 used in other markets!

People like to complain about Tesla quality, but has anyone done a study on long term quality? I know early cars suffered here, but i havent heard many bad things about like, 2015+ ish.

The original law as written in 1988 exempts 25-year-old and older vehicles from the import ban.

I can tell you why these divers manage to find so many bodies the police do not: Proper interviews and investigation. First, remember these guys are strangers on virtually all dives they do and completely unfamiliar with the area. So they ask A LOT of questions regarding the area and the victim’s driving habits. And

Living in a country (Norway) that several years ago was forced to accept any car legal in the EU, I have mixed feelings about opening up fully for gray imports.

Oh cool, that pusher prop is still alive...Kinda.

Interesting article. It’s fascinating that automakers looked at this free consumer research of the time and rather than recognizing there was a market to exploit, they opted to close the door completely. I mean, if 20% of your domestic sales came from grey market vehicles - that means you are doing something wrong.

Always funny to hear how the “party of small government” literally goes into huge government mode to interfere with any aspect of commerce that directly affects their bottom line. Rather than focusing on how to build products that people want, it’s easier to buy favor to legislate out competition, and it directly

Conditional NP. IF the body and undercarriage are in good shape, then I’d go for it. But if it has been sitting outside for an extended period of time and it’s Swiss cheese underneath then send it to the scrap yard.

The play is to buy the nicest SL you can afford. If this has any spot of rust under those chrome fender covers or if this doesn’t have it’s original hard top it’s a definite pass it by.

There is clear plast on the bottom of one meant to illuminate the license plate when the running lights are on. Typically the reverse light goes up for this reason.
