Oh, I will most definitely be sticking around. It would take a lot more than one person telling me to leave to make me change the deeply rooted personal convictions that I have.

She is! I'm incredibly proud of her, especially since I only have a high school diploma. At least ONE of us is making something of themselves.
Thanks! I only kept responding because even if she is just a troll, other people might see what she said and just assume it's right. There has to be some kind of counter balance to her argument, or toxic ideas go unchallenged and spread around.
I think they would suffer some kind of short circuit, were that the case.
Hahaha, that's awesome. I can picture them getting more and more frustrated as their attempts to interject are repeatedly squashed.
It was really more like he understood and agreed that interrupting someone is rude and not welcome, but that women should interrupt him right back. It was pretty hypocritical though, considering he got VERY pissed with me for interrupting him, and was asking for the same respect that HE should have been showing women…
Thanks! I don't know you very well, but from stalking your other posts connected to your profile, I think it's safe to say you're doing a great job yourself!
No problem. You make up for it!
Hahaha, yeah I guess that's one way to look at it.
Nope. Still here.
Oh god, I'm so sorry, I read your comment completely wrong. It sounded like sarcasm in my head. I'm so sorry. I've been in a heated argument with someone else on here who said I can't be a feminist because "males cannot be." I transferred some of that absorbed vitriol over to you without thinking.
Males cannot be feminists? That's just not true.
I don't really understand your comment. I followed him around for a while at a party to make a point in relation to a question HE asked ME. You sound angry.
I AM a feminist and I'm not quite sure what would lead you to believe I am not.
Uh oh, you're onto me.
In my experience, most guys in MFA programs are asshats.
Good point. I've also always wondered why people like this, who seem to understand that "interrupting a woman" = "angering a woman", don't try to stop interrupting women. It's not in THE INTERRUPTOR'S best interest to interrupt, so it makes absolutely no sense to me.
He probably thinks the women all got accepted into "his" program through some kind of affirmative action, instead of, oh I don't know, being educated and intelligent enough to EARN their acceptance into a graduate level program.
Probably so. My wife is in an MFA program herself, and she gets whiny dudes like this all the time. It's kind of funny to watch as an outsider because these guys JUST DON'T GET IT. I really think it's a complete and total lack of empathy for half of the world's population.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that "feminism" = "defending yourself from a man". Not that defending yourself from a man isn't great, but it seems like she's implying that all it takes to be a feminist hero is to beat up a dude.
